When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange was unable to provide any tangible reason. SEACLUSION - Driver J Stormont reported that the mare cast the near fore shoe.

SEACLUSION - required assistance from a Starting Attendant in the pre-race formation with a warning being placed on the barrier record of the mare.

SEACLUSION - broke near the 1400m after successfully contesting for a position on the back of HOORAY HENRY losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days. Stewards questioned drivers J Stormont (SEACLUSION) and T Herlihy (DAWSON) regarding this incident. Mr Stormont advised that his mare had paced roughly at stages throughout the event including shortly after this incident causing the horse to break briefly. After hearing from drivers and viewing the films Stewards were in agreeance that it was a racing incident with no further action deemed necessary.

DUCHESS MEGXIT - driver Z Butcher admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations 4.4 in that he crossed his reins late in the run home to perform a celebratory gesture and the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. In taking this course of action Stewards took into account his recent warning in relation to this Rule.

When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Stormont reported the mare had worked well leading into the event after having recovered from a viral respiratory infection however had disappointed when asked for an effort. WICKED WANDA - broke near the 350m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.

WICKED WANDA - appeared to lay in and locked wheels with an inside runner passing the 200m resulting in Driver B Butcher being tipped from the sulky badly checking a trailing runner which also lost all chance. This mare was then caught by the Clerk of the Course. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed superficial lacerations to the off hind. Mr Butcher was examined by St John ambulance staff and found to have sustained some minor abrasions.
