When questioned regarding his decision not to shift wide early in the home straight to secure clear running Driver Z Butcher stated that the gelding had lay in rounding the turn when he activated the deafeners and improved to the inside of RUBY RIDGE which he had been trailing so he felt his best option then was to look for a run through the middle rather than lose momentum by attempting to restrain and come around that runner. Stewards noted Mr Butcher's comments and took the matter no further.

After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Trotter the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Trotter's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 14 July 2024 (4 days).
