Dr Chin was reminded of his obligations to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course given similar circumstances and to report any gear malfunctions to Stewards as soon as practicable in the future. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.

Driver M McKendry admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip on one occasion free of the rein on the final turn. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr McKendry's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 27 January 2025 (3 days).

CON GRAZIA LOVE - contacted the sulky wheel of FEARLESS near the 300m after there was an easing of the pace which resulted in the tyre being punctured and coming off the rim. A protest was lodged under Rule 869A(2) by connections of FEARLESS placed 4th against 3rd placing being awarded to CON GRAZIA LOVE (M McKendry) on the grounds of alleged interference in this incident. After hearing the relative evidence and viewing the replays the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. Stewards took no action against Driver M McKendry in this incident due to the easing of the pace simultaneously to his move outwards.

WALKINONSUNSHINE - raced wide near the 1500m. Stewards questioned driver Z Butcher in relation to a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule. After hearing from Mr Butcher and viewing the films Stewards were satisfied FORGIVENESS (B Butt) had commenced his shift outwards prior to WALKINONSUNSHINE reaching his sulky wheel and that Mr Butcher had elected to take his runner forward and had raced wide thereafter. Weakened passing the 1000m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

Mr Mitchell reported that he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled.

Stewards lodged a protest against 5th placing being awarded to this runner under Rule 870(3) & Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150m when in the second break.
