A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination revealed an entrapped epiglottis. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.

BOSS KENNY - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Raced wider on the track passing the 1200m after AMERICAN MUSCLE had shifted ground away from the marker line. It was established Driver T Cameron (AMERICAN MUSCLE) had commenced his outwards movement prior to BOSS KENNY reaching his sulky wheel with no further action deemed necessary. Broke again passing the 1000m losing all chance.

HIGH ENERGY - when questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett reported that after the three wide line had failed to establish in the middle stages she had been unable to make ground due to the fast closing sectionals and was satisfied with the way the mare had finished off the race.

FAITH IN MANCHESTER - when questioned regarding the performance Driver T Mitchell advised that he had not received a trail into the race as hoped, after the three wide line failed to progress racing down the back the final time, but was satisfied with the manner in which the mare ran on over the final stages. Mr Mitchell reported that he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled.

KYVALLEY HOTSPUR - back from position over the latter stages of the score up. When questioned Driver T Mitchell stated that the entire had felt uneven in its gait in the middle stages of the score up so he had been reluctant to place this runner under pressure and had then been unable to fill its position when the mobile accelerated prior to dispatch. A warning was placed on the horse's barrier manners.

KYVALLEY HOTSPUR - trotted roughly for a distance passing the 900m. Weakened final bend before breaking near the 300m losing all chance.

KYVALLEY HOTSPUR - trotted roughly rounding the final bend losing ground. Continued to trot roughly in the run home. Driver A Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on one occasion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 19 October up to and including 21 October 2024 (2 days). A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
