Front: Trotters with no wins for lifetime. 30m: Horses with 1 win for lifetime. Also R35 to R40 horses with no wins in the last 5 starts. Selection preference to non-winners then 1 race winners.

OTAKI COUNTRY CUP TROT

For R35 & faster trotters. The winner will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season. A Northern Regional Trotters Cup Qualifier.

Preferential barrier draws may apply should it be deemed necessary to ensure overall fairness to all horses given the ratings spread in these races. Ratings and or conditions may be used by the club when determining the splits for these races.

R50 & FASTER DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP PACE 2700m (Tentative)

OTAKI CUP

Of $20000

For R50 & faster pacers. The winner will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season. This race is included in the COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP. This race is also a Northern Regional Pacers Cup Qualifier.

Special Conditions

  1. RATINGS PROGRAMME

    Races to be conditioned on field selection from lowest rating up then earnings in last four starts. Aim to have rating bands of five or less. Preferential barrier draws based on ratings then earnings in the last four starts may apply should it be deemed necessary to ensure overall fairness to all horses given the ratings spread in these races.

  2. ONE NOMINATION PER HORSE

    Trainers are advised that a horse may only be nominated for One Race at this meeting.Trainers do however have the right to Transfer their horse(s) following the close of Nominations.The club reserves the right to transfer any horse deemed necessary,unless trainers specify that their horse(s)is NOT to be transferred.

  3. RESTRICTED PROGRAMME

    Owners and Trainers please note that these race meetings Day 1 & 2 are restricted to eight race programmes.
