Driver K Green defended a subsequent charge under Rule 858(1)(a) alleging that she delayed the start when allowing her runner to contact the barrier strand resulting in a false start being declared. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from the Stewards, Ms Green, Starter's Assistant T Dewe and Starter B Ward, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and after considering submissions on penalty imposed a fine of $200.
TICKTOCK MCGLAUGHLIN - trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver A Milne.

SECRET AGENT MAN - held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home. Stewards questioned driver N Williamson regarding his decision not to shift wider on the track near the 700m when the opportunity existed prior to being covered by SEMBA. Mr Williamson explained that the gelding was not travelling well during the running and for this reason he was reluctant to improve outwards and race without cover due to the very blustery head winds encountered in the back straight. After considering his explanation, Stewards were satisfied Mr Williamson's actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further. Mr Williamson admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 100m when shifting ground outwards checking and hampering outside runners. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
