Raced wide middle stages before breaking near the 1200m after its off hind contacted the sulky wheel of ALWAYS B MAGIC hampering trailing runners and lost ground before settling at the rear. It was established that ALWAYS B MAGIC had shifted out marginally passing the 1200m when Driver B Butcher activated the removable deafeners but was immediately corrected prior to the contact occurring. In considering the matter Stewards took into account that ST JOHN EIGHT throws wide in behind which contributed to the contact occurring and took the matter no further other than to note the circumstances.
