k7mleQNVHS8 BRENDA'S JEWEL - broke near the 1300m losing ground. Broke again near the 900m losing further ground. Broke again approaching the 50m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
MISS GRACE KELLY - fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start losing all chance.
QUEENSLAND SPIRIT - fractious prior to the start.
HUSH HUSH - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.
RADIANT - trainer A Edge was issued a warning for failing to have mudguards affixed to his sulky. Trotted roughly over the final stages and shifted into the passing lane. When questioned by Stewards driver S Thornley explained the horse was inclined to lay inwards early in the run home and he was having steering difficulties. Notwithstanding this Mr Thornley was spoken to and advised to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home and ensure full access is available for trailing runners in the passing lane in future.
PROPELLOR - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
ZOE HARBOUR - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
SHARPE STRIDE - trainer S Reid was issued a warning for failing to have mudguards affixed to his sulky. Broke at the start losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
ALLEYESONME - broke briefly at the start losing ground.

SPECIAL EDITION - hung inwards and locked sulky stays with SEMPER DENARIO approaching the 600m with both runners losing ground. Weakened final bend.
TATTOOED LADY - trainer M Purvis was issued a warning for presenting the filly to race with blinds which had not been notified. Out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Weakened from the 1000m and was retired from the race. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Dunn advised in his opinion the filly failed to handle the track conditions today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M Purvis advised he was disappointed with the effort and would have his own veterinarian examine the filly in the coming days and undertook to notify Stewards of any findings that could explain the performance.
GHOSTBUSTER - trainer B Butt was issued a warning for presenting the filly to race with blinds and removable deafeners which had not been notified. Out of position at the start. Driver S Hill was issued a warning.
PENNY ROSE - late scratching at 8.35am due to track conditions.
FOUNDYOU - out of position at the start. Driver J Cox was issued a warning. Paced roughly approaching the 1200m. Weakened final bend.
SEMPER DENARIO - locked sulky stays with SPECIAL EDITION which hung inwards approaching the 600m with both runners losing ground. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer M Purvis advised he would have his own veterinarian examine the filly in the coming days and undertook to notify Stewards of any findings that could explain the performance.

OLYMPIAN - weakened from the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Morrison advised the gelding had failed to handle the slushy track conditions and was inclined to hang throughout.
APHIBARNRAT - trainer A Stuart was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available. Broke near the 1500m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
TAKE A CHANCE ON ME - broke at the start losing ground. Lost its position with the field approaching the 1500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver R Holmes advised he was disappointed with the effort and could provide no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Mr Holmes advised he would have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and undertook to notify Stewards of any findings that could explain the performance.
HOPPY'S SMILE - weakened from the 700m.
COULD BE KATY - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.

MIKKO KOIVU - broke at the start and came together with NIGHT LIFE losing all chance. Weakened from the 700m.
NIGHT LIFE - broke at the start and came together with MIKKO KOIVU losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.

THE NIGHT AGENT - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened considerably from the 1400m hampering a trailing runner and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
DESTINY'S DREAM - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened from the 800m.
BRONSKI - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 1400m. Weakened from the 800m.
LESTER - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PLAYING WITH STARS - gave ground leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Borcoskie advised the mare had been hanging and striking its knee and he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination detected a degree of internal exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH) that may have affected the mare's racing performance. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.
Following this race the track was upgraded to Easy.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Mr Holmes advised he would have blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and undertook to notify the results to Stewards.
