BACCHUS - weakened in the run home. Driver J Dunn was issued a warning for half carting for a distance near the 1400m. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Dunn advised the gelding had over-raced in the parked position.
LOUS PINUP GIRL - late scratching at 4.21pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
MELTON MAGNATE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
CRACKLE N CRUNCH - raced wide with cover from the 700m.
STUMBLIN IN - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
SWEET BREE - lay in and struck a track marker final bend.

MISSING IN ACTION - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised the horse had received every opportunity and could offer no explanation.
MAJOR LAZARUS - hampered by a weakening runner final bend and held up early in the run home.
WATTLEBANK WILL - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners and struck a track marker. Driver S Ottley was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for contacting a track marker. When questioned regarding the performance Miss Ottley advised the gelding may be better suited to racing with cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
HIKARAKI - paced roughly in the score up. Over-raced early stages.
KHE SANH - out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt.
Race 3   OKTOBERFEST 2 OCT - BEERS, BETS & BRATS BOOK NOW MOBILE TROT
KAWATIRI TREV - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Butt. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
PRESTIGIOUS - checked by a breaking runner near the 600m. Trotted roughly in the run home.
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - weakened final bend.
TYRON EROS - broke near the 600m checking trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MOSES - checked by a breaking runner near the 600m. Driver S O'Reilly reported she sustained a punctured sulky tyre in consequence.
ZOLTAN BOSCIK - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver B Butt advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
DASH DOSH - checked by a breaking runner near the 600m and struck the sulky wheel of MOSES despite the efforts of driver J Dunn.
Race 4   HAGLEY WINDOW & DOORS HANDICAP PACE
LESTER - broke at the start losing ground. Held up for clear racing room inside the final 150m.
ESMERALDA - lay inwards at various stages throughout. Driver S O'Reilly advised she would be recommending gear changes prior to the mare racing next.
BAR LOUIE - cast the left front shoe in the run home.
J T BOE - pre-race warmed. Paced roughly in the early stages. Lay inwards at various stages in the run home having to be corrected by driver T Williams. Mr Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 5   MATT HARRISON CONSTRUCTION MOBILE TROT
KOWHAI SUMMIT - hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m.
ROYAL DEL - broke in the early stages checking a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m. Weakened final bend.
HARRIET'S MOMENT - broke shortly after the start checking a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. After viewing the replays connections did not contest the protest and HARRIET'S MOMENT was disqualified by Stewards.
MAROUBRA - crowded by an outside runner rounding the final bend.
HOOF IT HAGRID - hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m. Shifted outwards in the run home. Driver R Harrison was advised to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
ROYAL GYPSY - raced wide early.
ONE EL - hung inwards final bend before being placed in restricted room by outside runners and struck several track markers.
MASSIVE MERC - hung inwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke near the 600m hampering trailing runners losing all chance.
MACHO MAN - held up leaving the final bend.
JUST FOR TODAY - checked by a breaking runner in the early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m.
FOUR WISE WOMEN - checked and broke shortly after the start losing ground.
DYNASTY - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
TU TANGATA - driver P Nairn was issued a warning for crowding inside runners rounding the final bend.
Race 6   DOWNBYTHESEASIDE 'MAKING A SPLASH' MOBILE PACE
WOODLEA CC - checked by an outside runner early in the run home.
LOVEATFIRSTLIGHT - raced wide early. Held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home. Driver B Orange advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
VICTORY MARCH - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 1000m. Hung inwards leaving the final bend having to be corrected by driver J Morrison.
NELLA KEENAN - raced wide early. Paced roughly near the 1050m losing ground. Raced wide with cover from the 1000m.
ROSETTA ROAD - checked by an outside runner early in the run home and raced inside a track marker.
AALIYAH - weakened leaving the final bend and raced greenly with the filly's hind leg making contact with the sulky wheel of VICTORY MARCH which had hung inwards despite the efforts of driver J Morrison resulting in inside runners being checked. After viewing the replays Stewards were unable to apportion blame onto any one horse or driver and took the matter no further.
BLISS PHILLY - paced roughly in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
DEVIL WOMAN - raced wide with cover from the 1000m.
Race 7   MACCA LODGE SIRES' STAKES 3YO FILLIES CLASSIQUE (MOB TROT)
VELOCIS - weakened from the 600m.
REGAL SUMMIT - weakened from the 600m.
SHAMARA - weakened from the 600m.
MONTARA - over-raced passing the 1300m when being restrained to obtain cover. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
MARIKIT - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
IMPERIOUS GIRL - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Stewards lodged a protest against 5th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the filly had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. After viewing the replays driver C Ferguson did not contest the protest and IMPERIOUS GIRL was disqualified by Stewards.
Race 8   WOODLANDS STUD SIRES STAKES SERIES 2YO C&G HEAT 2 (MOB PACE)
TRAVEL AGENT - broke after 100m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Driver J Dunn reported he had difficulty steering the gelding and would be recommending gear changes. Connections advised the horse would return to the trials prior to resuming.
A MAKO MAN - late scratching at 11.58am on Veterinary advice.
FUNDRAISER - late scratching at 6.56pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
SWEET ROMANCE - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m. Weakened from the 600m.
FAITH NOT FEAR - lay inwards leaving the final bend and throughout the run home. Driver S Ottley advised she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
FANFARE - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
CAPTAINS LEGACY - broke shortly after the start and shifted ground abruptly inside the marker line losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

NEXT LEVEL - weakened final bend.
GOTTA ELECT BILL - over-raced middle stages.
DECEPTIVE LEE - raced wide early.
SACETAS - weakened early in the run home.
EUN SOGNO - raced wide early.
CATH - junior driver S Hill admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip in a continuous manner in the run home with the hearing adjourned until the Banks Peninsula TC meeting on Sunday 20 September 2026.
EBONY ARDEN - lay inwards late in the run home having to be corrected by driver T Williams.

MIKI'S COURAGE - paced roughly early in the run home.
COMMANDER BEN - crowded shortly after the start by an outside runner. Over-raced middle stages.
CRUSHER LOU - driver S Thornley was issued a warning for the manner in which he drove shortly after the start when shifting ground and crowding an inside runner. Mr Thornley was also issued a warning for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
MY WINGMAN - over-raced middle stages. Held up late in the run home.
QUINN - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend and for the majority of the run home.
ASHLEY FRANK - raced wide early.
CHEER THE CAPTAIN - over-raced in the early stages when wide on the track.
UKRAINE - the required veterinary clearance was received.
