Race 1   GARY McCORMICK TRANSPORT PACE
There was a delay to the start when PICK IT UP reared and fell to the track. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
SEAFOLLY - tangled away. Held up early in the run home. Driver R Alfeld advised he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled.
TRIMBLE - broke passing the 200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CANDY CRUNCH - held up final bend.
LIBERTY GIRL - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
ELLIE ROSE - tangled away.
PICK IT UP - weakened final bend.
Race 2   CHERTSEY TROTTING CLUB TROT
The race was started slightly earlier than programmed due to a timing error which was identified and rectified following the race.
LADY TONI - broke at the start losing ground.
MOERAKI - broke passing the 100m and failed to settle. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. Connections did not contest the protest and MOERAKI was disqualified by Stewards.
JACKS POINT - broke near the 1500m losing ground. Broke again near the 300m losing all chance.
THE GYPSY KING - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 1400m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
EVANGALIST - broke near the 1600m losing ground. Broke again in the run home losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
ROCKY IN PARADISE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Broke again passing the 1200m losing all chance.
GEORGIA TROUBLE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 3   PERFECT STING STANDING AT MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed three minutes due to SKY NEWS having broken gear.
SKY NEWS was declared a late scratching by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(g) after having broken hopples which were unable to be replaced without causing an unreasonable delay. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition with trainer B Negus deemed not to be at fault.
SKY NEWS - the required veterinary clearance was received.
DESTINY'S ANGEL - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
LAURALEE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Butt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Paced roughly rounding the final bend losing ground.
EL DRAEGO - out of position at the start. Driver W House was issued a warning.
FOUNDYOU - lay inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Paced roughly shortly after the start.
MISS WOODVILLE - trainer M House was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available.
LADY LE MANS - raced greenly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Weakened passing the 400m. Driver K Butt reported the filly had been hanging outwards during the running. Trainer A Edge advised the filly was showing signs of muscle tie up and being in season following the race. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 4   FULTON HOGAN TROT
SEE NO EVIL - driver K Butt reported the mare had over-raced at various stages during the running.
ROYAL AHEARN - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
ARADNE - trotted roughly and broke passing the 750m when attempting to force KINGAROY wider losing considerable ground. After taking initial evidence from driver S Tomlinson, Stewards opened and adjourned an investigation into this incident.
VALYRIAN - began awkwardly.
LIPSTICK - raced wide early.
ONNAHILL - raced wide early. Lay inwards and trotted roughly passing the 1200m. Lay inwards rounding the final bend striking track markers. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
BULLET - the required veterinary clearance was received. Broke at the start losing considerable ground.
Race 5   ADVANCED FEEDS MOBILE PACE
ENYA FRANCO - held up final bend.
PENNY WEIGHT - raced wide early.
B J HUNNICUTT - raced wide early.
MAJOR HENRY - raced three wide with cover throughout. Weakened final bend.
MIKI BROWN - lay outwards shortly after the start losing ground. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver K Butt advised she did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
COURAGE REACTOR - held up final bend.
UNICO REALTA - raced wide from the 1000m.
SPIRIT OF ATLANTA - raced wide from the 1000m. Held up early in the run home.
TROUBLESHOOTER - raced three wide without cover throughout. Weakened final bend.
KELTIC TIGER - broke briefly in the score up and was in position at the start. Raced wide early.
Race 6   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES (HEAT 2) MOBILE PACE
START ME UP - held up early in the run home.
QUEEN LIZZY - lay outwards early in the run home and marginally shifted up the track.
Race 7   A TEAM CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
SHOWCASE - raced wide early. Weakened rounding the final bend and locked wheels with SELSEY ANNE which shifted inwards with a trailing runner being checked.
MAJOR PERFORMER - held up final bend.
OUR HARMONY - raced wide early. Held up final bend.
MOLLY MAEVE ESTELLE - raced three wide without cover from the 1200m. Checked rounding the final bend.
MONKEE MAJOR - over-raced when racing wide in the early stages. Raced three wide with cover from the 1200m.
QUEEN TYRON - the required veterinary clearance was received. Broke briefly in the score up and was in position at the start.
SELSEY ANNE - shifted inwards and locked wheels with the weakening SHOWCASE rounding the final bend checking a trailing runner losing all chance. Stewards questioned junior drivers T Bamford (SHOWCASE) and D Williams (SELSEY ANNE) assisted by R Holmes regarding this incident and after hearing their explanations, issued Miss Williams with a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging she had driven carelessly when activating gear and allowing her runner to shift inwards and lock wheels with SHOWCASE. Miss Williams admitted the charge and was assisted by P Black, HRNZ Development Coordinator at the penalty hearing. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Williams' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 4 September up to and including 13 September 2026 (3 days).
HEAVEN'S MARK - trainer J Morrison was issued a warning for being late to notify the mare would be racing with sliding blinds. Broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 8   THE WYLIE FAMILY PACE
SARGENT HENRY - weakened final bend.
RIVER - held up final bend.
CHOCO LOU - tangled away.
OKIWI BAY - raced wide early.
TERRORMYLOVE - tangled away losing ground.
OCEAN OF TEARS - held up early in the run home.
