Race 1   FERN LAW MOBILE PACE
BESIDE ME - raced wide in the early stages.
DYNASTY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Butt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Paced roughly at various stages throughout.
Race 2   ST AUGUSTINE'S SECONDHAND CATHOLIC BOOKSHOP MOBILE TROT
ELLAGATOR AL - broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SPECIAL SON - hampered by a breaking runner near the 800m. Weakened from the 600m.
SEEKING LOVE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
WENDY MOON - trotted roughly passing the 900m. Broke passing the 800m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again passing the 400m losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have some lameness in the right fore leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
SUTTLE - lay outwards when leading at various stages and in particular in the run home having to be corrected by driver J Dunn.
EVOLUTION - lay inwards early in the run home.
THE ROYAL METRO - broke after 100m losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 3   JOHN JONES STEEL MOBILE PACE
LONGVIEW TUI - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m.
JESSE OWENS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m.
APATCHOFGOLD - over-raced early when being restrained to obtain cover.
TOMOGALAK - broke passing the 900m hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CAROLAN QUESTRO - raced fiercely throughout in particular passing the 1200m causing driver C Ferguson difficulties.
MIGHTY FLYING MIKI - over-raced through the middle stages.
Race 4   CATHOLIC PARISH OF CHRIST THE REDEEMER MOBILE TROT
SNOOOWGOOD - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
TERRY WEBSTER - hampered by a weakening runner near the 400m.
HOOF IT HAGRID - raced wide early.
THE WILL - broke passing the 400m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 5   FOOD FOR FAITH MOBILE PACE
SIDESTEPPER - lay outwards and shifted up the track at various stages.
ORLANDO WISH - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again passing the 1000m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
TAUMUTU MAJOR - raced greenly throughout causing driver S O'Reilly some difficulty and was not persevered with from the 500m. Miss O'Reilly advised that the gelding has had a change of bit since last racing which the horse had resented with this becoming detached during the running. Trainer L Mosely advised he would be making corrective changes prior to TAUMUTU MAJOR racing next.
Race 6   CATHOLIC CATHEDRAL PARISH MOBILE TROT
TANIA HEST - broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
LA VENTURE - broke briefly in the score up however was in position at the start.
CLASSICAL GAL - over-raced middle stages.
EYES WIDE OPEN - co-trainers H & A Cullen were issued with a warning after presenting the gelding with blinds which were not notified.
ROYAL MONARCH - broke passing the 250m losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the films and were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
Race 7   VIVACE INVESTMENTS MOBILE PACE
SMOKING ASHES - the boring pole was removed prior to the start due to the gelding warming up unfavourably.
SARGENT HENRY - weakened from the 700m.
EASTON DOLL - trainer B Munro was issued with a warning for failing to have the correct colours available.
LOOKIN SNAZZY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Butt. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1200m.
SUSPICIOUS CAPTAIN - held up final bend.
FLYING HOLME - raced fiercely passing the 1200m becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of SMOKING ASHES and broke hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 8   THERMO KING MOBILE PACE
WOODLEA ROCKS - raced three wide without cover from the 1100m. Weakened from the 400m.
CLASSIE LINC - placed in restricted room and was checked passing the 150m when being shifted wider by CRUSHER LOU. After questioning drivers S Tomlinson (CLASSIE LINC), S Thornley (CRUSHER LOU) and T Williams (SPICEY LOU) and viewing replays it was established that CRUSHER LOU had attempted to shift CLASSIE LINC wider with sufficient advantage however both horses had been slow to react, with the quickly improving SPICEY LOU simultaneously laying inwards placing pressure to the outside of CLASSIE LINC. When considering these circumstances Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any one horse or driver and subsequently took the matter no further.
CAPTAIN TYRON - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted in the middle stages driver J Dunn advised he had hoped that a three wide line would develop to allow him to improve forward with cover however this did not eventuate. Mr Dunn further added he was not disappointed with the manner the gelding had finished the race off.
GOTTA ELECT BILL - raced wide early.
CRUSHER LOU - shifted out passing the 150m placing CLASSIE LINC in restricted room. Driver S Thornley advised he had been having steering difficulties in the run home and he would be recommending gear changes.
SPICEY LOU - lay inwards in the run home placing CLASSIE LINC in restricted room near the 150m. Driver T Williams advised he would be recommending gear changes.
MY WINGMAN - raced wide early.
Race 9   FRIENDS OF THE ST JOHN PAUL II CENTRE HANDICAP PACE
COMMANDER BEN - broke at the start losing ground.
BANNOCKBURN - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
REIMBURST - raced wide early.
SEMBA - began awkwardly after the barrier strand briefly tangled around this runner's legs. Driver T Williams was issued with a warning for anticipating the start.
NEXT LEVEL - raced wide early.
BRYCE'S MEDDLE - raced wide early until reaching the parked position passing the 1800m.
KIWI HERO - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
JOHN STEWART - raced wide from the 2000m.
