Race 4 - DIAMOND CREEK FARM / SBSR SOUTHERN SURGE MOBILE TROT
Stewards conducted a further review of Race 4 from the Invercargill HRC meeting held on 9 August. This review included consideration of the available race footage, particularly in relation to the horse TO THE MOON AND BACK (K Tomlinson) breaking during the early stages of the event. Following this review, Stewards were satisfied that TO THE MOON AND BACK had breached the provisions of HRNZ Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations. Accordingly, TO THE MOON AND BACK was retrospectively disqualified, with the placings amended as a consequence.

WAVEWATCHER - weakened in the run home.
COURAGE REACTOR - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
THE HIGHLANDER - raced wide early. Held up early in the run home.
RYLAN CHARLIE - raced wide early.
SUPER FUND - held up leaving the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
TROUBLESHOOTER - raced wide in the middle stages.
Race 2   BEN SCOTT CONTRACTING / VALLEY MOTORS KUROW TROT
KD CORONA - driver B Williamson admitted a charge under Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that he shifted ground outwards prior to the 1000m forcing ROCKY IN PARADISE to race wider on the track. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
MISS SUNNY HILL - broke after 100m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
WENDY MOON - weakened final bend.
CLASSIC SKYE - broke near the 250m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. The near hind bandage came adrift during the running. Trainer M Williamson was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the gear so as not to come adrift.
LADY TONI - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
PYRAMID MISCHIEF - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer M Williamson.
WORSETHANTED - trotted roughly in the early stages. Broke near the 700m losing all chance.
JUST CHARLIE - weakened from the 900m. Stood down to trial in a competitive manner on two occasions to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
WYPOUT - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m and broke in consequence losing all chance.
PHANTOM SPUR - slow in the early stages. Under pressure from the 1200m before weakening from the 1000m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
ROCKY IN PARADISE - forced to race wider on the track prior to the 1000m when an inside runner shifted ground outwards. Trotted roughly final bend.
Race 3   COLLIE HILLS STUD / COMBINED SERVICES CLUB TWIZEL PACE
TOO SWEET FOR ME - tangled away then broke shortly after losing ground. Lay in over the concluding stages after receiving pressure from an outside runner having to be steadied by driver G Smith.
SEAFOLLY - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
WATTLEBANK WILL - placed in restricted room over the concluding stages having to be steadied by driver S Ottley.
LIBERTY GIRL - shifted in on several occasions in the run home despite the efforts of driver G Thornley crowding inside runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
HOPPY'S SMILE - placed in restricted room near the 350m when weakening, having to be steadied by driver S Tomlinson.
BLU DIAMOND - shifted out near the 350m placing an outside runner in restricted room. Driver R May was issued with a warning for the manner he drove at this stage of the race.
Race 4   WAITAKI HOTEL SOCIAL CLUB MOBILE PACE
ORLANDO WISH - raced greenly in the early stages.
JUST A GEM - raced wide early.
SUSPICIOUS CAPTAIN - shifted in under pressure in the run home having to be straightened by driver K Butt.
MAJOR LAZARUS - raced wide in the middle stages. Lay in late in the run home.
BATON ROUGE - driver B Orange was issued with a warning for striking the final track marker prior to the passing lane which was dislodged.
DONT THINK JUST DOO - raced wide in the middle stages.
Race 5   MAG & TURBO DUNEDIN HANDICAP PACE
MIKI BROWN - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
HAZER - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
FOLIEJON STAR - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts.
WAIKAKA - paced roughly for a distance passing the 1800m. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.
MY SKATJIE - paced roughly in the early stages. Raced four wide from the 700m.
HEAVEN'S MARK - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 6   KUROW AUTO CENTRE / TE KANO ESTATE TROT
JORDAN ANNE - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
SHEILA LAXON - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
OUR EVIE RAE - lay inwards near the 1450m striking track markers. Weakened leaving the final bend hampering trailing runners and again lay inwards striking a track marker.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
PHISHING - late scratching on veterinary advice at 9.57am.
MIKKO KOIVU - over-raced middle stages and lay in and trotted roughly when attempting to improve to the lead. Weakened from the 700m.
ARADNE - raced wide early. Lay in leaving the final bend.
MAJESTIC ME - shifted up the track in the run home having to be straightened by driver B Williamson.
MARKTHEWARRIOR - cast a bell boot near the 1500m.
LOVEYOU TO DA SKYE - broke near the 800m losing ground.
Race 7   GERALD & ROSE CAYFORD MOBILE PACE
RAHASI - placed in restricted room by an outside runner entering the first bend. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
ADAMAS - placed in restricted room by an outside runner entering the first bend. Placed in restricted room again by an inside runner leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance of a favoured runner trainer/driver R Holmes advised that other than the gelding having a hard run he could offer no explanation.
MIGHTY FLYING MIKI - raced wide from 900m.
MOLLY MAEVE ESTELLE - shifted in entering the first bend placing inside runners in restricted room. Driver S O'Reilly was issued with a warning for the manner she drove at this stage of the race. Held up over the concluding stages of the run home.
CHEER THE CAPTAIN - connections advised Stewards that the gelding has had a wind operation since last racing. Raced wide early.
SUPERFAST - raced wide from the 750m.
MR CASH MAN - raced wide from the 850m.
MIGHTY FLYING LOU - raced wide from the 650m.
DESTINY'S DREAM - held up in the early stages of the run home.
RACK'EM UP - raced wide early. Lay out leaving the final bend placing an outside runner in restricted room.
Race 8   BRIAN BENNETT TRANSPORT KUROW TROTTERS CUP (HCP TROT)
DIDN'T DI - weakened final bend.
THE WILL - switched to a pace near the 600m having to be restrained by driver M Williamson before weakening rounding the final bend. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
LOVE WALKED IN - weakened final bend.
ROYAL DEL - paced in the early stages before switching to a trot.
DOMINATION'S CALL - weakened from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had been striking the inside of its right hind leg during the running. Connections advised that DOMINATION'S CALL will undergo a full veterinary examination in the coming week. Stewards will follow up the results.
Race 9   WAITAKI HOTEL (KUROW) KUROW CUP (HCP PACE)
NEXT LEVEL - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver K Butt advised she did not activate the removable deafeners as a consequence.
JOYRIDE(AUS) - tangled away.
BETTOR WAY - raced wide from the 850m.
RAKAMURPH - held up final bend and early in the run home.
BORRISOKANE - over-raced middle stages. Raced wide from the 850m. Lay in leaving the final bend.
JIMMYRAY - weakened early in the run home.
DREAMS ARE FREE - tangled away. Lay out rounding the final bend.
J T BOE - pre-race warmed.
Race 10   MARSHALL TRANSPORT / VALLI WINE KUROW MOBILE PACE
SPIRIT OF ATLANTA - weakened in the run home.
