B J HUNNICUTT - connections advised the horse has been gelded since last racing. Held up throughout the run home. Driver C Thornley reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre in the run home. Mr Thornley admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when shifting inwards near the 100m when insufficiently clear of RAKERO JOHN which struck and punctured his sulky wheel. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Thornley's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 9 August up to and including 16 August 2026 (2 days).
BLAZE CRAZE - paced roughly passing the 1500m having to be steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
TUPPENCE - over-raced passing the 1000m when being restrained to obtain cover.
CARRERA BANDIDO - when questioned regarding the performance driver R May advised the gelding had worked hard in the early stages and he believed the horse may have got its tongue over the bit.
TALLANDFAST - held up for the majority of the run home. Driver S Tomlinson advised she did not activate the sliding blinds in consequence and that she sustained a punctured sulky tyre shortly after the start.
ART JORDAN - driver S Thornley admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when allowing his runner to strike the sulky wheel of TALLANDFAST in the early stages resulting in the tyre being punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300. Connections reported the gelding lost a front shoe during the running.
RAKERO JOHN - hampered near the 100m by an outside runner.

TIME FOR VICTORY - slow to begin.
PORT PEGASUS - struck track markers leaving the final bend. Driver M Hurrell was issued a warning.
THE WILL - switched to a pace rounding the first bend before breaking losing all chance.
PAIGE - held up early in the run home.
MILLIE LET LOOSE - held up early in the run home.
LOVE WALKED IN - raced wide early. Raced wide without cover from the 750m. Weakened early in the run home.

COMMANDER BEN - broke at the start losing ground.
MY SKATJIE - began awkwardly.
LONNEKERS - broke briefly shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner. Driver R Cameron admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly leaving the final bend when shifting ground and allowing his horse to strike the sulky wheel of DECEPTIVE LEE resulting in the tyre being punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300. Mr Cameron was also issued a warning for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
NEXT LEVEL - paced roughly racing into the first bend having to be steadied. Lay inwards rounding the first bend striking track markers. Held up throughout the run home.
NUTCRACKER - broke at the start losing ground. Lay inwards rounding the first bend striking track markers.
JOHN STEWART - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
JOYRIDE(AUS) - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Driver J Cox reported he accidentally dropped his whip near the 900m.
KIWI HERO - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky wheel of NUTCRACKER near the 1200m. Weakened final bend.
DECEPTIVE LEE - driver G Thornley advised she sustained a punctured sulky tyre early in the run home.
Race 5   LAST CHANCE FOR MID-WINTER XMAS 14 AUGUST MOBILE PACE
LARISSA BEAUDIENE - crowded by an outside runner near the 1450m striking several track markers. Weakened from the 600m hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver R May advised the filly had been hanging at various stages causing him steering difficulties. Briefly crowded when weakening by outside runners rounding the final bend and struck track markers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
LOOKIN SNAZZY - awkwardly placed to the inside of MAMAS CRUNCH after 150m and struck the wheel of that runner having to be steadied.
MAMAS CRUNCH - shifted inwards in the early stages crowding LOOKIN SNAZZY. Driver T Chmiel advised the filly had been hanging causing him difficulty. Notwithstanding the racing manners of MAMAS CRUNCH, Stewards issued Mr Chmiel with a warning to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Chmiel advised the filly had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Connections advised they would give consideration to sending the filly for a spell.
BEACHBREAK - driver T Williams was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
EUN SOGNO - driver K Butt was issued a warning for crowding an inside runner near the 1450m which struck several track markers.
LESTER - over-raced middle stages.
RACK'EM UP - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
BEAUDIENE ALWAYS B - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
Race 6   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND NATIONAL HANDICAP (HCP PACE)
DOUBLE TIME - weakened early in the run home.
TANZANIA - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
MALAKAI - broke in the early stages losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TACT TEVA - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BETTORS ANVIL - raced greenly when leading on occasions through the middle stages.
RENEGADE - broke at the start losing ground. Struck track markers rounding the final bend when weakening hampering a trailing runner. Driver B Butt was issued a warning. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Butt advised that despite having to work hard through the middle stages to improve his position he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
MO'UNGA - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
Race 7   AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE
ORLANDO WISH - broke after 150m and shifted inwards abruptly inside the marker line despite the efforts of driver T Williams losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
EASTWOOD COMMANDER - over-raced in the early stages causing driver R May difficulty. Lay inwards rounding the final bend striking a track marker. Continued to lay inwards in the run home striking several track markers.
SEMPER DENARIO - broke late in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
Race 8   GOLD BAND TAXIS HANDICAP TROT
BROTHER LOVE - broke near the 400m losing all chance. Stewards questioned driver G Smith regarding his foot being removed from the sulky footrest for a distance passing the 400m. Mr Smith advised that after breaking he had eased BROTHER LOVE down and had dropped his foot for balance. Notwithstanding his explanation, Mr Smith was advised to ensure his foot remains in the sulky footrest at all times during the running.
DOMINATION'S CALL - broke near the 300m losing all chance.
