Race 8 - DIAMOND CREEK FARM / SBSR SILK ROAD FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
Driver R McIlwrick (RAVEN SHARD) defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly approaching the 900m when failing to concede his position when being forced outwards by RAKAVENOM (H Douglas) which contacted the sulky wheel of the runner in front (TREASURE CHEST) and broke in consequence losing all chance. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Stewards, R McIlwrick and H Douglas, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and following submissions on penalty suspended Mr McIlwrick's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today, 2 August up to and including 16 August 2026 (2 days).

REDBACK BOB - driver N Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
STAR INVASION - trotted roughly under pressure throughout the run home.
KD CORONA - trotted roughly shortly after the start losing ground. Driver B Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to the gelding trotting roughly in the run home.
FIERY ADI - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke near the 1100m losing all chance.
SHAKEDOWN - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again rounding the final bend when trailing the field.

SIMPLY AMAZING - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
SAGWITCH - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
CLOSE - driver M Hurrell was warned for using his whip free of the rein in the run home.
HAZER - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
RISING STORM - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Barclay before laying outwards and briefly becoming awkwardly placed to the sulky wheel of BAUTISTA, pacing roughly in consequence. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Briefly crowded racing into the first bend when simultaneously shifting to an inside position with HAZER and struck a track marker. Held up final bend.
BAUTISTA - over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
Following the running of this race the track conditions were upgraded to Good.
Race 3   DIAMOND CREEK FARM/SBSR SOUTHERN SURGE SERIES MOBILE PACE
ROCKY BALBOA - required the assistance of a Starting Attendant prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MOON LIGHT TERROR - over-raced through the middle stages. Driver A Kyle was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Race 4   DIAMOND CREEK FARM/SBSR SOUTHERN SURGE SERIES MOBILE TROT
MISTER - weakened from the 900m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery and high respiratory rate. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
JACCKA ACE - pre-race warmed.
KRACKA LOOKA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver K Tomlinson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced wide early. Driver K Tomlinson advised the mare had cast a shoe in the score up.
RACEY KRUSA - out of position at the start. Driver M Hurrell was issued with a warning for failing to maintain his barrier position until the start point. Raced wide early. A post-race endoscopic veterinary examination at the request of connections detected a degree of internal exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH). Stood down for the mandatory period of 30 days with connections advised a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to completing a satisfactory trial would be required prior to the gelding resuming.
PENELOPE LANE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Williamson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
BULLIT TRAIN - over-raced through the middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 900m. Raced fiercely and broke rounding the final bend losing all chance.
HAVE A LITTLE FAITH - hampered by a weakening runner near the 900m.
Race 5   DIAMOND CREEK FARM/SBSR SOUTHERN SURGE SERIES MOBILE PACE
RAMBLIN ROVER - broke after 100m losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DIAMONDSONMYSHOES - held up rounding the final bend.
WARD LAMON - lay out rounding the final bend and early in the run home with driver M Kyle advising that she had been unable to utilise the passing lane as a consequence.
Race 6   DIAMOND CREEK FARM/SBSR SOUTHERN SURGE SERIES MOBILE PACE
FEARTHEDANCE - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Held up rounding the final bend and throughout the run home. Driver P Hunter advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
TURN N BURN - held up rounding the final bend and throughout the run home. Driver C Ferguson advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence. Stewards questioned driver C Ferguson regarding his decision not to shift outwards leaving the final bend when an opportunity existed, resulting in the mare being held up. Mr Ferguson explained the mare had been proving difficult to steer and had lay inwards at various stages in particular when attempting to shift outwards leaving the final bend. After hearing from Mr Ferguson and viewing the replays which confirmed Mr Ferguson's explanation, Stewards took the matter no further.
SURE TO RISE - weakened over the concluding stages. Driver O Thomas advised a sulky tyre had deflated during the running.
Race 7   DIAMOND CREEK FARM/SBSR SOUTHERN SURGE SERIES MOBILE PACE
THE ORANGE ROUGHY - hampered by a slight easing of the pace near the 850m. Held up rounding the final bend.
MIKI SKIPPER - held up rounding the final bend.
HONEYCOMB - raced wide early. Raced wide again from the 950m. Weakened final bend.
SHOOTFORTHESTARS - lay outwards and paced roughly under pressure leaving the final bend hampering an outside runner.
SANTIAGO - raced wide early.
JAY JAY DENARIO - raced wide early. Hampered leaving the final bend when an inside runner lay out.
INDULGE ME - lay out rounding the final bend and throughout the run home having to be corrected. Driver N Williamson advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MONEY IN THE TILL - hampered by a slight easing of the pace near the 850m.
