Race 8 - DIAMOND CREEK FARM / SBSR SILK ROAD FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
After further reviewing the replays, Stewards sought leave from the Adjudicative Committee to withdraw a charge of careless driving near the 900m against H Douglas (RAKAVENOM). Stewards opened and adjourned an investigation into the manner in which R McIlwrick (RAVEN SHARD) drove at this stage of the race.

Race 1   SADDLERY WAREHOUSE MOBILE PACE
RAKATURBO - hung outwards early in the run home and was slow to respond when driver C Dalgety attempted to utilise the passing lane which allowed the trailing DELIGHTINGOLD to improve to his inside, resulting in RAKATURBO having some difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.
DELIGHTINGOLD - held up rounding the final bend and until late in the run home.
SURE TO RISE - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 2   MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
CHAOS - weakened in the run home.
CAPTAIN ROBYN - driver B Barclay was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
ITHINKWEREALONENOW - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Held up throughout the run home.
JUST A GEM - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver N Williamson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. When questioned regarding the performance driver N Williamson advised the filly had paced roughly rounding the bends and had disappointed when asked for an effort from the 400m. Trainer M Williamson advised he would give consideration to freshening the filly before resuming.
Race 3   C&R MOBILE PACE
MATAI LIZZIE - weakened final bend.
BETTOR N JOY - weakened final bend.
WARD LAMON - driver M Kyle was issued with a warning for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
HERB - driver P Hunter was spoken to advisedly for jostling for a position for an extended period racing into the first bend.
STEP IT UP A NOTCH - driver C Dalgety advised he did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
NUTCRACKER - driver M Hill was spoken to advisedly for jostling for a position for an extended period racing into the first bend. Had to be steadied late in the run home when briefly placed in restricted room.
Following the running of this race the track conditions were upgraded to Good.
Race 4   NEW WORLD WINTON HANDICAP TROT
SPECIAL SON - broke after 100m losing ground. Hampered by a weakening runner passing the 800m. Hampered by a breaking runner passing the 150m.
PHANTOM SPUR - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room at various stages of the run home. Driver L Dobbs was issued with a warning for loose reining in the run home.
THE BUTTERBEAN - briefly crowded as the start was effected. Broke in the early stages losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer S Matheson.
JUST CHARLIE - weakened from the 800m hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
PYRAMID MISCHIEF - weakened final bend before breaking passing the 100m losing all chance. Stewards questioned driver H Douglas regarding the tactics he adopted in the early and middle stages when racing clear of the field. Mr Douglas explained that after gaining the lead early the filly had raced keenly on occasions and had established a considerable margin over the body of the field. Mr Douglas further advised that he had to steady the filly through the middle stages which allowed the remainder of the field to improve closer. Trainer M Williamson advised that he would give consideration to removing the blinds from the filly for future starts.
CLASSIC SKYE - raced wide early. Broke rounding the first bend losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
KIMBO - broke passing the 500m losing all chance.
STAR INVASION - raced wide early.
FIERY ADI - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
MOONLIGHT ANGEL - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 150m.
GASHERBRUM - trotted roughly in the run home having to be steadied passing the 50m.
SEBASTIAN STARK - raced wide early. Lay out and broke passing the 150m hampering trailing runners losing all chance.
Race 5   KERRY HODGES MEMORIAL WINTER REWARDS MOBILE PACE
THE BRICKLAYER - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
DIAMONDSONMYSHOES - weakened final bend.
ABULL - co-trainers O Lawrence and C Graham were issued with a warning for presenting the gelding without the notified anti-choke device. Over-raced middle stages after being unsuccessful in challenging for the lead racing into the first bend. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
HONEYCOMB - shifted up the track in the run home when racing to the inside of RISE UP N DANCE. Following the race driver N Williamson (RISE UP N DANCE - 2nd placing) viewed the Stewards footage of the concluding stages and elected to lodge a protest against 1st placing being awarded to HONEYCOMB alleging interference in the run home had prevented RISE UP N DANCE from finishing ahead of that runner. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from drivers N Williamson, P Hunter (HONEYCOMB) and Stewards, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. Driver P Hunter was issued with a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
PARTY UP DENARIO - raced wide early.
BOMBAY GLACIER - connections advised that the mare had cast the near front shoe during the running.
RAKAMICK - raced wide early.
Race 6   ADVANCE AGRICULTURE WINTER REWARDS HANDICAP TROT
AVEROSS MAJESTY - weakened leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
GLENDHU MISCHIEF - broke after 100m losing all chance.
PONTIFF - broke briefly at the start and again after 100m losing ground. Broke again near the 1650m losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Weakened from the 600m.
ANDY HALL - hampered by a weakening runner leaving the final bend. Held up early in the run home.
KYLE LOCH - weakened leaving the final bend.
THE GREEK FREAK - broke near the 850m losing all chance.
JACCKA ACE - pre-race warmed. Driver N Williamson was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
LIL WHIP - broke after 100m losing ground. Weakened from the 600m.
HARRIET'S MOMENT - fractious prior to the start. Over-raced middle stages.
JOANY BABY - lay inwards late in the run home having to be corrected by driver B Barclay.
BULLIT TRAIN - trotted roughly in the run home
HE AINT FAKIN - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race by driver B Williamson.
Race 7   ROBERT & JANICE AUSTIN WINTER REWARDS MOBILE PACE
PACIFIC ARC - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - pre-race warmed. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m.
NEK DELIGHT - raced wide early. Weakened from the 700m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery.
MR PRESIDENT - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
RAKAVENOM - weakened rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver H Douglas advised that the mare had over-raced in the middle stages after obtaining the lead with the effort taking its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

MIKI SKIPPER - raced wide early.
DRUMMERSHAVTIME - raced wide early. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver N Williamson advised that despite working hard in the early stages before being challenged for the lead for a distance passing the 900m he was disappointed with the gelding's effort.
