| After further reviewing the replays, Stewards sought leave from the Adjudicative Committee to withdraw a charge of careless driving near the 900m against H Douglas (RAKAVENOM). Stewards opened and adjourned an investigation into the manner in which R McIlwrick (RAVEN SHARD) drove at this stage of the race. |

Mr Douglas explained that after gaining the lead early the filly had raced keenly on occasions and had established a considerable margin over the body of the field. Mr Douglas further advised that he had to steady the filly through the middle stages which allowed the remainder of the field to improve closer. Trainer M Williamson advised that he would give consideration to removing the blinds from the filly for future starts. | |

Following the race driver N Williamson (RISE UP N DANCE - 2nd placing) viewed the Stewards footage of the concluding stages and elected to lodge a protest against 1st placing being awarded to HONEYCOMB alleging interference in the run home had prevented RISE UP N DANCE from finishing ahead of that runner. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from drivers N Williamson, P Hunter (HONEYCOMB) and Stewards, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. Driver P Hunter was issued with a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home. | |
