| COMMANDER JOE - driver H Douglas advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre rounding the final bend. Stewards spoke with junior drivers D Williams (KOWHAI STAR), assisted by S Tomlinson and H Douglas (COMMANDER JOE) regarding this incident and after hearing their explanations, Stewards issued a charge against Miss Williams, alleging she drove carelessly when shifting ground near the 400m and striking the sulky wheel of COMMANDER JOE which punctured. Miss Williams admitted the charge and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. | |

| MALAKAI - paced roughly over the concluding stages. Driver R May was spoken to for the manner in which he drove leaving the final bend after his horse shifted outwards. Mr May explained that the gelding had shifted outwards when unsuccessfully attempting to activate the removable deafeners with his foot before he was able to activate this gear at his second attempt. Stewards noted Mr May's comments and reminded him of his obligations to ensure he does not allow his runner to shift wider on the track at this stage of the race. | |
