| RINGLEADER (B Orange) broke during the score up free of interference and shifted outwards, brushing the sulky of HARRY'S GIRL. Driver B Orange raised his hand to alert the Starter to call a false start when positioned to the outside of the track and clear of the running line. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Mr Orange elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Raced greenly in the score up of the restart and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. | |
| Stewards questioned Starter R Donnelly, members of the start crew and Mr Orange regarding the reasons for a false start being declared. After hearing from all parties and viewing the replays, Stewards issued a charge against Mr Orange under Rule 858(1)(a) alleging he caused a delay to the start by signaling to the Starter. Mr Orange defended the charge and after considering all of the evidence, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and imposed a fine of $400. | |
