Mr Douglas was issued a further warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion leaving the final bend.
MATAI LIZZIE - raced wide early. Junior driver E Adams, assisted by M Williamson, was questioned in relation to the reason she failed to ease RAMBLIN ROVER down to the marker line when the opportunity presented itself for a distance passing the 1200m, thereby allowing her runner to obtain the one/one position. After considering her explanation, together with her relative inexperience Stewards advised her that greater judgement and tactical awareness would be expected in similar circumstances in the future, particularly where an opportunity exists to obtain a more advantageous racing position without placing her runner at a disadvantage.

PARTYTIME - driver N Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
AMERICANA ELITE - broke near the 700m after hanging inwards and becoming awkwardly placed to the outside of NEK DELIGHT, losing all chance. Stewards questioned driver C Ferguson regarding the breaking of AMERICANA ELITE entering the relevant stage of the race. Mr Ferguson explained that his runner had commenced to hang inwards shortly after he activated the mare's removable gear and required correction at the same time as NEK DELIGHT (K Green) shifted outwards. He stated that, when he attempted to direct AMERICANA ELITE wider on the track, the mare was slow to respond to his efforts. Mr Ferguson further advised that, although he felt at the time NEK DELIGHT's shift outwards was abrupt, there had been no contact between the two runners and he did not believe Miss Green's outward movement, in isolation, had caused his runner to break. After reviewing the available race films and carefully considering Mr Ferguson's explanation and taking into account the manner in which AMERICANA ELITE responded to Mr Ferguson's driving, together with the absence of any contact between the runners, Stewards formed the opinion that Miss Green's outward movement was not the sole contributing factor to AMERICANA ELITE's break. Accordingly, no further action was deemed necessary.
RYLAN CHARLIE - hung inwards nearing the 1300m placing NEK DELIGHT in restricted room.
ROCKINGOOD - junior driver M Hill, assisted by N Williamson, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the early and middle stages of the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
