Race Comments
| Race 1 BRANDT HANDICAP TROT | |
|---|---|
| EYRE I WILL - tangled away. Broke rounding the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 150m when in a break. Connections did not contest the protest and EYRE I WILL was disqualified by Stewards. | |
| TAYLAD TO USE - trotted roughly in the early stages and racing into the first bend. | |
| KINK - trotted roughly middle stages. Shifted up the track near the 750m when driver M Hay was activating gear which allowed the trailing ROMEO FOXTROT to improve to its inside. Mr Hay advised that the gelding had been proving difficult to steer and had placed him at a disadvantage when activating the removable deafeners. Mr Hay further advised that it was this runner's first start at Alexandra Park and had been laying inwards on the bends and outwards on the straights. After viewing the replays which confirmed Mr Hay's explanation Stewards took the matter no further. | |
