Mr Smith explained that after having to work hard in the early stages to take up a forward position he felt it was the best option to attempt to save ground and follow the more favoured runners which were positioned on the marker line. Mr Smith further added that the filly had received every opportunity in the run home when placed under pressure. After considering his explanation Stewards were satisfied Mr Smith's decision was not unreasonable at that stage. | |
