JUSTA RIPPA - over-raced middle stages.
SACETAS - driver R Harrison advised she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
NEXT LEVEL - held up leaving the final bend.
TAKE THE MIKI - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R May. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Mr May advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Connections advised the gelding will be freshened prior to resuming.
AMASS - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
WILD WILLOW - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Cox. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 2   PLUMBERS NIGHT 26 JUNE. BOOK NOW!! HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed due to VALYRIAN requiring farrier attention.
ARDEN SOLITAIRE - weakened in the run home.
VALYRIAN - broke in the early stages losing all chance.
A REASON TO FIGHT - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner for a distance passing the 800m before breaking near the 650m hampering trailing runners losing all chance. Stewards questioned driver R Close regarding this incident. Mr Close advised that his runner had been over-racing causing him difficulty and after being hampered by the weakening MILLIE LET LOOSE he had attempted to shift ground outwards however MILLIE LET LOOSE had hung outwards simultaneously to him shifting ground resulting in his runner being placed in restricted room. After viewing the replays and considering Mr Close's explanation Stewards took the matter no further.
ONNAHILL - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on two occasions from a standing start prior to resuming. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 650m.
KAIRAKI SPUR - hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 650m.
SON E - late scratching at 10.19am on Veterinary advice.
MAROUBRA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 650m. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
MILLIE LET LOOSE - weakened from the 800m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare. Trainer S Sutherland advised the mare would now be sent for a brief spell.
Race 3   LISTEN LIVE ON SPORTNATION.NZ MAY 2YO STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
MADDISONS SPEEDY - hung outwards in the run home and contacted the sulky wheel of LAYTON DAVID resulting in the gelding pacing roughly.
METRO BOY - paced roughly in the early stages.
Race 4   ROAD METALS MOBILE PACE
JAY JAY DENARIO - held up early in the run home.
FRANCO LENNON - paced roughly near the 50m.
LADY TYRON - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Harrison advised the filly was unsuited to the fast closing sectionals and was racing up in grade.
IRISH DREAM - out of position at the start. Driver C DeFilippi was issued a warning.
Race 5   NZB WEANLING SALE 20 MAY GAVELHOUSE MOBILE PACE
ATULA - raced wide early.
COULD BE KATY - raced wide early.
CONAN - hung inwards and struck a track marker near the 1050m which was dislodged.
HARRY'S GOLD - late scratching at 6.57pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
HIKARAKI - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
Race 6   ADDINGTON RACEWAY & ANZCO SUPPORTS WESTPAC CHOPPER HCP PACE
BRYCE'S MEDDLE - weakened final bend.
LONNEKERS - broke at the start losing ground. Held up final bend and throughout the run home.
TEDS LEGACY - weakened final bend.
BEACHBREAK - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again rounding the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed a laceration on the left front leg which was treated.
THE COALMAN - raced wide without cover from the 650m.
MOONLITE BLOOD - raced wide early. Raced wide with cover from the 600m.
TANZANIA - weakened near the 1300m and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
SPIRIT DOWNUNDER - raced wide with cover from the 600m.
Race 7   WOODLANDS STUD WEANLING SALE OPEN DAY 9 MAY HCP TROT
A false start was declared due to PRESTIGIOUS charging the barrier despite the efforts of driver K Butt with the barrier strand becoming entangled around the horse's front legs. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PAIGE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m.
MILES AWAY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m.
ROYAL DEL - broke near the 2400m losing ground.
STYRAX - weakened from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer/driver J Cox advised the mare would be sent for a spell.
DONNA'S BOY - broke near the 300m when leading hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
RACHMANINOV - raced wide from the 700m.
FATHER TIME - the 30 metre barrier strand made contact with this runner as the start was effected with the strand clearing the gelding shortly after.
Race 8   COMMODORE HOTEL SUPERSTARS CHAMPIONSHIP (MOBILE PACE)
MO'UNGA - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly leaving the final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver R Close advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
AMERICAN ME - over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
SIDESHOW BRUCE - over-raced middle stages. Lay outwards at various stages through the running.
Race 9   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
MONKEE MAJOR - over-raced middle stages.
JOYRIDE(AUS) - the required veterinary clearance was received.
CAPTAIN COOL - lay outwards leaving the final bend.
CRUSHER LOU - raced wide early.
BLAZING KNUCKLES - raced wide early.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
