Race 1   PLUMBERS NIGHT 26 JUNE. BOOK NOW!!! TROT
BRIANNA - stood on the mark and was slow to begin losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened final bend.
ROYAL DIEDRE - driver A Beecroft was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
BONNIE BAGRIE - broke after 100m losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 2   CHECK OUT BRECKON FARMS WEANLINGS AT NZB.COM MOBILE PACE
GIRL'S NIGHT OUT - Stewards spoke to drivers R Holmes (GIRL'S NIGHT OUT) and H Douglas (SOFIA ROSE) in regard to Mr Holmes' outwards movement near the 1000m. After considering the explanations tendered by both drivers, reviewing all available race footage, and taking into account their own observations, Stewards established that, notwithstanding GIRL'S NIGHT OUT having its head turned outwards, SOFIA ROSE was not dictated wider on the track prior to the 1000m. Accordingly, Stewards determined that no further action was warranted.
ANN SOPHIE - paced roughly near the 200m.
ASK ME LAZARUS - the anti choke device was removed prior to the start after warming up unfavourably. Over-raced middle stages.
SOFIA ROSE - raced wide early.
Race 3   NZB WEANLING SALE 20 MAY ON GAVELHOUSE TROT
TAMSIN TROUBLE - broke inside the final 50m and continued on in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(5) alleging the mare was lapped on at the finish by MISS MADDIE MAXIE. Connections did not contest the protest and TAMSIN TROUBLE was relegated to 5th placing by Stewards. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
BRIGHTMAN - broke at the start proving difficult for driver K Cameron to restrain back into its correct gait due to bucking losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
HOOFN IT - driver S Trotter was issued a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion near the 150m.
GERALDINE CLOWERS - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
IMPERIAL KNIGHT - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Hung inwards near the 2100m and struck track markers. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on two occasions prior to resuming.
MISS MADDIE MAXIE - tangled away and slow in the early stages.
Race 4   ALABAR (NZ) LTD SELLING WEANLINGS 20 MAY 2026 MOBILE PACE
SWEET WILLOW - raced wide from the 1150m.
CULLENS BEACH - commenced to weaken from the 500m hampering trailing runner.
LA CONCHA - stewards questioned driver C Dalgety regarding the improved performance of this runner, Mr Dalgety advised that, after disappointing at its previous start, the gelding had recovered well and pleased the stable with its work during the week. Mr Dalgety added that a minor gear alteration had been made leading into tonight's engagement and, combined with being driven more positively in the early stages to secure a more favourable position in the running that this had contributed to the improved performance.
LOUIS - raced wide early.
THE TOWN OF LIGHT - contacted track markers rounding the first bend after having removable deafeners activated. Junior driver D Williams will be spoken to in the coming days regarding this incident. Improved outwards near the 1100m forcing SUPER FUND (O Thornley) to race wider on the track. Junior driver D Williams (assisted by S Thornley) admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
BELMONT VALOR - hampered by weakening runner passing the 500m. Held up middle stages of the run home.
SUPER FUND - forced to race wider on the track near the 1100m for a distance when THE TOWN OF LIGHT shifted outwards.
SALUTE - raced wide early. Over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover passing the 1400m. Weakened over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson could offer no explanation.
Race 5   WOODLANDS STUD WEANLING SALE OPEN DAY 9 MAY MOBILE PACE
STYLE COUNCIL - placed in restricted room entering the first bend having to be restrained by driver H Sail. Held up final bend.
LILY'S A STAR - gave ground late in the run home.
AUNTIE DEB - slow in the early stages. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
LORD FANTASY - shifted inwards approaching the first bend when not sufficiently clear, placing STYLE COUNCIL in restricted room. Driver T Duley was issued a warning for the manner in which she drove at this stage of the race. Gave ground late in the run home.
MIGHTY FLYING LOU - raced wide early.
QUINN - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
Race 6   BUY A WOODLANDS STAR 20 MAY 2026 TROT
KD GRINS - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
PRINCE TEKA - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly at various stages throughout.
RUTHLESS EMMA - held up throughout the run home.
ROBO TROUBLE - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
ALOTOFTROUBLE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
BAFFLED - raced keenly middle stages.
Race 7   CANTERBURY PLAINS CHALLENGE SERIES (HEAT 9) MOBILE PACE
CARRERA KAHU - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson, with a warning being placed on the mare's barrier record. Hung in briefly and struck a track marker near the 1450m. Miss Tomlinson was reminded of her obligations under Rule 507B after leaving course prior to the expiry of 25 minutes following her drive when Stewards wished to speak with her regarding the mare's racing manners.
VERDUCCI - held up final bend.
CHEEKY RED - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Chmiel. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
