Race 1   IT'S BACK!! PLUMBERS NIGHT 26 JUNE MOBILE PACE
DIDJASHOUTTHEBAR - weakened from the 500m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding. Driver J Buckland-Stevens was issued a warning for using her whip on a runner out of contention.
OFF THE EDGE - lay inwards and struck a track marker rounding the final bend.
LOVEYOURMOTHER - hung outwards in the score up and in the early stages causing driver C Wigg some difficulty. Lay inwards and struck a track marker rounding the final bend.
AUNTIE DEB - driver C Negus admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly near the 1500m by displaying a lack of control when attempting to activate the hopple shorteners resulting in her horse racing inside several track markers and pacing roughly. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300. Mrs Negus advised she had been unable to activate the hopple shorteners after becoming entangled.
Race 2   CHECK OUT DJ PARKYN PAINTING & DECORATING MOBILE PACE
BEACH BARBIE - raced lethargically and paced roughly rounding the first bend hampering a trailing runner. Weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance trainer B Weaver advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
CLASSY CLEOPATRA - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered rounding the first bend. Over-raced middle stages.
SKY NEWS - junior driver M Holbrough (assisted by A Butt) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Holbrough's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 6 May up to and including 8 May 2026 (2 days).
ULTIMATE DREAMER - over-raced when being restrained to trail passing the 1400m.
ALWAYS B HAYLEY - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Lay inwards in the run home having to be corrected by driver S Ottley. Raced greenly late in the run home.
Race 3   ENJOY TRACKSIDE DINING ON PREMIER NIGHT 22 MAY MOBILE TROT
A false start was declared when ROYAL DIEDRE broke in the score up and attempted to buck checking inside runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver D Williams elected to remain in her allocated barrier position for the restart. The start was further delayed due to the mare requiring a sulky change.
PEAKNMONKEY - broke briefly late in the score up of the restart however was in position at the start. Weakened in the run home.
MODE - weakened from the 400m.
SWITCH ON - trotted roughly in the run home before breaking passing the 50m and continued on in a break across the finish line. Driver S Ottley advised she did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
ROYAL DIEDRE - weakened final bend.
VALYRIAN - broke in the score up of the restart losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again passing the 1350m losing all chance and was retired from the race. Driver O Thornley reported the gelding had been striking the sulky wheel discs.
FLORENCE THE MACHINE - trotted roughly in the score up of the restart and was back from the unruly position. Held up final bend.
Race 4   OWNTHETHRILL.CO.NZ 'CHECK IT OUT' MOBILE PACE
RED WINE KISSES - over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
LA CONCHA - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
QUICKER THE BETTOR - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver S Hill. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced wide early.
Connections advised Stewards on 6 May that LA CONCHA had recovered well and pleased the stable with its work during the week adding that a minor gear alteration had been made leading into tonight's engagement.
Race 5   BOOK NOW FOR MID WINTER XMAS THIS JULY & AUGUST TROT
BAFFLED - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards near the 900m striking a track marker.
SCHOEMAKER - driver J Smith admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Smith's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 6 May up to and including 10 May 2026 (2 days).
ROYALGLOW - lay inwards near the 900m striking a track marker. Held up early in the run home.
RUTHLESS EMMA - held up early in the run home. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 150m.
NOAH MAGNIFIC - lay inwards near the 900m striking a track marker. Struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver S Thornley was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. Broke passing the 150m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance.
BLUEY - struck track markers rounding the final bend. Driver L McKay was issued a warning. Weakened in the run home. Miss McKay was also advised to start wider on the track when drawn unruly.
DIEDRE FRANCO - fractious prior to the start. Trotted roughly in the early stages losing ground.
Race 6   CANTERBURY PLAINS CHALLENGE SERIES (HEAT 7) MOBILE PACE
CARRERA KAHU - checked in the early stages losing ground. Stewards opened and adjourned an investigation into this matter. Held up for a distance passing the 600m. Again held up early in the run home.
LASA - connections advised Stewards the gelding has been treated for muscle tie up since last racing.
SANS REPOS - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C DeFilippi. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming.
THE HIGHLANDER - raced wide with cover from the 1400m. Weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised that despite the gelding racing wide through the middle stages he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MOTOR MOUTH - over-raced middle stages.
BAUTISTA - over-raced middle stages. Held up for a distance passing the 600m.
Driver T Chmiel (CHEEKY RED) defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in the early stages by shifting ground inwards when insufficiently clear of CARRERA KAHU (S Tomlinson) which was checked and lost ground. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Mr Chmiel, Miss Tomlinson and Stewards, the Adjudicative Committee found the charged proved and suspended Mr Chmiel's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 6 May up to and including 10 May 2026 (2 days).
Race 7   SYNCROFLEX SUPERIOR EQUINE & CANINE SUPPLEMENTS MOBILE PACE
BIG GEE - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend.
MAGICAL MAX - weakened from the 400m. Driver B Orange reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Orange advised the gelding had been unsuited to racing in the parked position. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FLO MOTION - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver S Thornley advised the mare had worked hard at its last start to maintain the lead on a wet grass track with the effort taking its toll and had received an economical run tonight when saved for one run.
SOFIA ROSE - over-raced middle stages.
ART JORDAN - held up final bend. Struck the sulky wheel of MAGICAL MAX near the 400m resulting in the tyre being punctured. Driver A Russell admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Russell's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 10 May 2026 (3 days).
