Race 1   CANTERBURY PLAINS CHALLENGE SERIES (HEAT 6) MOBILE PACE
HANOI FRANCO - fractious prior to the start and refused to score up with the field taking no part in the race. Declared a non-runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. When questioned trainer P Shennan advised the mare may have been showing signs of being in season and that he planned to trial the mare prior to racing next. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
CARRERA KAHU - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R Harrison. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ENYA FRANCO - held up final bend and early in the run home.
Race 2   WAI EYRE STUD ANNE THOMPSON GRADUATION SERIES (HEAT 1) TROT
ROYAL RAIN CLOUDS - shifted outwards early in the run home crowding outside runners. Driver P Wakelin was issued a warning to maintain a straight course in the run home.
LAP IT UP - the required veterinary clearance was received. Held up final bend and early in the run home. Struck a track marker in the run home when attempting a marginal run. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had not gained any advantage when contacting a track marker in the run home. Driver S Tomlinson was issued a warning.
ADDI'S ANGEL - crowded by an inside runner early in the run home. Driver K Hadfield reported the mare lost the near front shoe during the running.
CARMEN LUCIA - broke after 100m losing ground. Broke again near the 1950m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
KAYLEEBELLE - broke at the start losing all chance.
REGAL SUMMIT - held up final bend and early in the run home. Crowded by an inside runner early in the run home.
KATELIN - over-raced middle stages. Trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver C DeFilippi.
ELLAGATOR AL - fractious prior to the start and was slow to begin. Broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.

BOYZONE - crowded by an outside runner racing into the first bend. Paced roughly through the middle stages.

FRANCO NOT OUT - lay inwards racing into the first bend crowding an inside runner.
HOKIE POKIE - lay outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early and middle stages.

LOGAN ROCK - broke at the start losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
Race 5   CONDOLENCES TO COLIN BERRY'S FAMILY TROT
ROYAL GRACE - weakened from the 400m and broke on the final bend losing all chance.
WHAT THE BELL - held up final bend.
PRINCE TEKA - weakened in the run home.
JOHNNY TROTTER - broke passing the 2200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CASTLEISLAND - over-raced when being restrained passing the 1200m.
MANAKAU BLAZE - raced wide early stages.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - held up early in the run home.

BONJOUR MIKI - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C Thornley. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early.
TSITSIPAS - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 850m.

FRANCO LENNON - driver A Butt advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MOSSDALE MARIE - held up final bend.
ANTISOCIAL - over-raced middle stages. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 7   WAIMAKARIRI BUSINESSES RANGIORA WINTER CUP (HCP PACE)
LONNEKERS - weakened rounding the final bend. Driver R Cameron advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre on the final bend.
SPIRIT DOWNUNDER - driver O Thornley admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly rounding the final bend when allowing her runner to contact the sulky wheel of LONNEKERS which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. When questioned regarding the performance Miss Thornley advised the gelding had settled further back than expected and had been unable to make ground due to the fast closing sectionals.
BRUNTWOOD BRIGADE - fractious prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 8   AUTO SELF SERVE CAR WASH WAIMAK JUNCTION MOBILE PACE
SOFIA ROSE - over-raced early and middle stages. Held up final bend and early in the run home.
MATTIE NEVIN - driver S Ottley advised she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
SHARDS LYRIC - held up final bend.
LOUS PINUP GIRL - over-raced middle stages.
CLASSIE LINC - raced wide early.
POLLY GREY - weakened final bend. Driver S Hill advised the mare had been hanging throughout causing him difficulty.

THE MANDALORIAN - forced to race wide from the 850m and weakened from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance driver W House advised the gelding was having its first run back after being freshened and had been unsuited by the tempo of the race.
MAMAS CRUNCH - late scratching at 8.18am on Veterinary advice.
DOWN A HUNDY - broke briefly in the score up however was in position at the start. Lay in and struck a track marker near the 1100m.
