Race 1   PHOEBE STANDARDBREDS TROT
There was a delay to the start due to SCHOEMAKER being fractious. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SPANISH PRINCESS - broke at the start losing ground.
WOT UP TYRON - broke after 150m losing all chance.
MORRIE AFTON - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
CHAMPERS PAT - broke rounding the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Weakened final bend.
JOHNNY TROTTER - lay inwards over the concluding stages.
CASTLEISLAND - weakened final bend.
HELP ME - held up final bend.
A REASON TO FIGHT - broke at the start losing ground.
TERRY WEBSTER - weakened final bend.
HUNTER HILLS - broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. Weakened from the 800m.
ISOBEL - trotted roughly over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the improved performance driver B Hope advised the mare had received an economical run today after returning to racing on an all weather track and had been gaining in confidence from recent starts.
Race 2   GLEN McNABB EARTHMOVING & ENGINEERING PACE
CLASSY CLEOPATRA - broke and shifted outwards at the start becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of BETTER MAN losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
BETTER MAN - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Thornley advised he had difficulty steering the gelding during the running.
ROYAL BELLE - hung inwards and struck track markers near the 1500m.
EASTWOOD COMMANDER - broke briefly shortly after the start losing ground. Hung inwards throughout the run home having to be straightened.
ALWAYS B HAYLEY - hampered rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the mare had switched off after being hampered however despite this she was disappointed with the effort.
UNDER ARREST - hampered rounding the final bend.
BACCHUS - raced greenly rounding the final bend when baulking at shadows on the track hampering trailing runners.
ENOKA - hampered rounding the final bend.
Race 3   CHRISTCHURCH SOUTH COMMUNITY PATROL MOBILE TROT
ROYAL GRACE - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
SENIOR CONSTABLE LIZ - pre-race warmed. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
TESSAMAE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
HOLLY HIGHLANDER - raced wide early.
SHEZA TRENDY ONE - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
DYNASTY - raced wide early. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 4   CHEVIOT FREIGHT MOBILE PACE
PERESTRELO - a post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination at the request of connections revealed no abnormalities.
SHARDS ECLIPSE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Broke again near the 850m and the 350m losing all chance. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the filly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ROCKABILLY REIGN - hung inwards on several occasions throughout the running.
THE SEAMSTRESS - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole however was in position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Again hung outwards racing into the first bend.
SKY NEWS - weakened final bend.
ULTIMATE DREAMER - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Butt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 5   RURAL LIVESTOCK LTD CANTY PLAINS SERIES (HEAT 4) MOBILE PACE
MOOSE MOROWSKI - hung outwards entering the first bend losing ground. Continued to hang outwards at various stages through the running. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
LASA - broke briefly near the 450m hampering trailing runners with the trailing SWEET WILLOW contacting the sulky wheel. Driver C Dalgety reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre.
SWEET WILLOW - hampered by a breaking runner near the 450m.
STUBING - hampered near the 450m.
BAUTISTA - over-raced early stages. Hampered near the 450m.
RADIOACTIVE JAFFA - over-raced early stages. Held up middle stages of the run home.
Race 6   DONAGHYS PRO EQUINE LEONARD MEMORIAL (MOBILE PACE)
STARLIGHT CRUNCH - hung inwards over the early stages. Paced roughly having to be steadied racing into the first bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the filly had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate.
Race 7   MORGAN SHEARING PACE
The start was delayed due to the Starter not being satisfied with the manner in which a number of runners addressed the barrier.
ANYTIME AT ALL - over-raced middle stages.
FOLIEJON STAR - had to be steadied after a slight easing of the pace near the 1800m. Held up late in the run home.
WISHING FOR U - over-raced and was awkwardly placed close to the sulky of FOLIEJON STAR after a slight easing of the pace near the 1800m. Paced roughly near the 50m having to be steadied.
CAPTAIN COOL - began awkwardly. Raced wide early. Driver J Cox advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
HEAVEN FORBID - hampered and broke after a slight easing of the pace near the 1800m losing all chance and was retired from the race.
Race 8   CHEVIOT BUSINESSES CHEVIOT CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
HADRON COLLIDER - broke at the start and shifted outwards hampering outside runners losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
HARRISON JOHN - hampered at the start.
IT'S TOUGH - hampered at the start. Driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
Race 9   AMURI READY MIX MOBILE TROT
THE MERC - when questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety could offer no tangible reason other than today's race being a step up in grade.
VALYRIAN - raced wide early.
CAPPAHA - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1100m. Broke near the 350m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
OUR PINOCCHIO - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
KASHANOVA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Hope. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SWITCH ON - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trotted roughly at various stages through the running. Weakened final bend.
ROYAL DEL - raced wide from the 700m.
OLIVER - held up final bend and early in the run home. Driver S Tomlinson advised she did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
Race 10   CHEVIOT CONCRETE HANDICAP PACE
MY SKATJIE - over-raced middle stages.
TOPAZ - raced in restricted room and struck a track marker rounding the final bend.
KOWHAI NUGGET - began awkwardly. Hung inwards and struck track markers rounding the final bend when weakening. Driver H Sail reported the gelding had hung on several occasions during the running.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - broke at the start losing ground.
COMMANDER BEN - raced wide early.
Race 11   CHEVIOT LICENSING TRUST HOTEL MOBILE PACE
VERDUCCI - lay inwards and struck a track marker leaving the final bend.
LOGAN ROCK - raced roughly after contesting a position with DESTINY'S DREAM rounding the first bend and raced wide early.
DESTINY'S DREAM - raced roughly after contesting a position with LOGAN ROCK rounding the first bend.
JUKEBOX GYPSY - over-raced middle stages.
