Driver A Clark defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(g) alleging he drove in a manner capable of diminishing the chances of his horse winning by electing to race in the parked position when the opportunity existed for him to restrain and obtain cover. After hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Clark and viewing the replays, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Clark's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 1 May 2026 (8 days). A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight lameness in the right hind leg and a high heart rate. | |

| JUMAL - Stewards questioned driver S Ottley regarding the tactics she adopted passing the 1100m when electing to shift outwards from a trailing position. Miss Ottley advised that HADRON COLLIDER which she had been trailing, had worked hard in the early stages and she was concerned that runner may weaken prior to reaching the passing lane or could restrain to obtain cover from GOT THE CHOCOLATES had it improved forward to lead which would have resulted in her horse having to race three back on the marker line. After considering Miss Ottley's explanation, Stewards were satisfied her tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further. | |
