Race 3 - MASONIC HOTEL MOBILE PACE
Junior Driver B Wilkins (VISCOUNT BANNER), assisted by S Phelan, defended a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After hearing the relative evidence the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and suspended Ms Wilkins driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 9 April up to and including 24 April (4 days).

Race 1   KIRIN HYOKETSU DINNY JOHNSTONE 2YO MOBILE PACE
ANN PENNY - over-raced briefly near the 1000m having to be steadied.
OMAHA LINCOLN - late scratching at 4.40pm on veterinary advice when found to be lame in the near hind leg during the preliminary. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
Race 2   IRT NZ SIRES' STAKES 3YO TROTTERS' SEMI-FINAL MOBILE TROT
TATTICA - slow early. Broke near the 1150m losing all chance.
KAIRO - trotted roughly over the early stages. Trotted roughly and hung inwards final bend striking track markers.
OUR COL - back from position at dispatch despite the efforts of Driver T Herlihy. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
KYVALLEY RAY - broke near the 1800m losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 1350m losing all chance. Stewards lodged a protest against 5th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 150m. Connections did not contest the protest and KYVALLEY RAY was disqualified by Stewards. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SAVE A PRAYER - broke near the 450m losing all chance. Authorisation of the promoted 5th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
Race 3   HOLMES & CO TRANS TASMAN DRIVERS INVITATIONAL MOBILE PACE
BENSON DUDE - paced roughly entering the first bend hampering a trailing runner.
OHOKA ACHILLES - held up final bend.
AUNTY ROSE - held up early stages of the run home.
MURTLE THE TURTLE - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards contacting a track marker near the 1330m.
ANOTHER COLLECT - late scratching at 7.54am on Veterinary advice.
DOMINUS - hampered entering the first bend. Raced four wide from the 600m. Placed in restricted room near the 250m when weakening.
CANDY CANE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver M Purdon could offer no tangible reason.
Race 4   CHARLIE HUNTER TROTTERS CUP HANDICAP TROT
BOSS JO - broke near the 2350m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
WESTAR MILLY - broke briefly shortly after the start losing ground.
SON OF PATRICK - broke leaving the 2200m losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
ITMUSCLEBELOVE - hampered near the 400m and again shortly after when an outside runner lay inwards striking track markers.
VERY MAJESTIC - held up final bend and early stages of the run home.
BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - trotted roughly passing the 300m.
ONE MORE MOMENT - broke passing the 400m and was taken down inside the marker line striking track markers hampering trailing runners losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
TAYLAD TO USE - lost ground from the 650m. Driver T Macfarlane was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion near the 1100m.
BOUNCE N BEYOND - raced wide for a distance passing the 1200m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dunn advised the gelding had raced lethargically from the 1000m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
ROMEO FOXTROT - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2350m. Lay inwards near the 300m placing an inside runner in restricted room.
JOHNNY WHO - raced wide from the 750m.
Race 5   MAGNESS BENROW S/STAKES 3YO FILLIES SEMI-FINAL 1 MOBILE PACE
SMACKDOWN - lay outwards early stages of the run home having to be straightened.
ALECTO - had to be steadied near the 1450m when WAT NEXT shifted inwards simultaneously to this runner progressing forward.
DOLLY PARTON - Driver S Abernethy reported that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1400m. Weakened final bend.
BETTOR BELLE - hampered near the 1400m by a breaking runner.
OPA'S GIRL - prior to the start required the assistance of a Starter's Attendant. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Weakened rounding the final bend.
TIME FOR CHANGE - broke near the 1400m after contacting the sulky wheel of DOLLY PARTON hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground. Stewards opened and adjourned an investigation into this incident.
Race 6   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS COUNTRY CUP HANDICAP PACE
CHANGE TACT - broke briefly shortly after the start. Paced roughly near the 900m.
KINGS WATCH - Driver T Mitchell was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
THE JOLLY ROGER - had difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the run home.
BETA PREPARE - shifted up the track as the start was effected and broke briefly. Over-raced middle stages.
LITTLE SPIKE - fractious prior to the start. The off side shortener cord became entangled after it was activated. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Herlihy advised he was satisfied with the performance given the tempo of the race.
JOLIMONT - fractious prior to the start then broke briefly losing ground. Raced wide from the 1200m.
Race 7   GARRARD'S SIRES' STAKES 3YO C&G SEMI-FINAL 1 MOBILE PACE
SPECIAL OCCASION - hampered by a breaking runner first bend.
NYMBAL - prior to the start required the assistance of a Starter's Attendant. Broke entering the first bend hampering trailing runners and was taken down inside the marker line losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier and racing record of the gelding.
ALLAMERICANPLAYER - hampered by a breaking runner first bend. Raced wide from the 1100m. Lay inwards and paced roughly when weakening final bend. Driver A Butt advised that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
CYCLONE REBEL - Driver T Herlihy was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
LINCOLN WAVE - hampered by a breaking runner first bend.
SAMMY LINCOLN - lay outwards and had to be corrected near the 100m.
SONOFAMISTERY - raced wide final bend.
CRITICAL IMAGE - hampered by a weakening runner and lay outwards when being taken down the track near the 300m becoming awkwardly placed close to the wheel of ALLAMERICANPLAYER.
FREEZE FRAME - raced wide early and middle stages.

BELLE NEIGE - weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner. Lay inwards striking track markers final bend.
KEAYANG ZAHARA - pre-race warmed.
YA RITE DARL - hampered final bend when held up by a weakening runner.
JILLIBY BALLERINI - pre-race warmed. Placed in restricted room near the 250m when an outside runner lay inwards striking track markers.
OSCAR BONAVENA - pre-race warmed. Out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Awkwardly placed close to the wheel of MEANT TO BE when there was an easing of the pace near the 1800m.
MEANT TO BE - had to be steadied near the 1800m resulting in a slight easing of the pace hampering a trailing runner.
GUS - pre-race warmed. Momentarily inconvenienced near the 1800m when there was an easing of the pace. Lay inwards near the 250m placing an inside runner in restricted room.
Race 9   THE RACE BY SPORT NATION MOBILE PACE
CAPTAINS KNOCK(AUS) - held up rounding the final bend. Driver B Hewitt admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulation in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the early stages. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hewitt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 21 April 2026 (7 days) and imposed a fine of $500.
SWAYZEE - raced wide early .
MERLIN - hampered near the 250m.
REPUBLICAN PARTY - pre-race warmed. Raced wide from the 600m.
LEAP TO FAME - raced wide early before reaching the parked position near the 1600m.
KINGMAN - over-raced middle stages. Lay outwards under pressure near the 250m hampering an outside runner.
AKUTA - pre-race warmed. Held up rounding the final bend.
THE JANITOR - pre-race warmed. Broke early in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide from the 800m. Awkwardly placed to the outside of AKUTA near the 200m when being shifted wider.
BETTER KNUCKLE UP - held up over the concluding stages of the run home.

SPIRITUAL BLISS - over-raced middle stages.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - weakened rounding the final bend.
FRANCENT - lay inwards and struck track markers near the 1400m.

SOUL ARTIST - over-raced early causing Driver D Butcher difficulty before shifting away from the marker line near the 1700m. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
