Race 1   NORTHLAND WELCOMES HARNESS BACK AFTER 11 YEARS MOB PACE
IN THE SUMMERTIME - over-raced middle stages.
MARY MAGDALENE - over-raced middle stages.
COMMANDER LINCOLN - back from position at dispatch. Driver A Sharpe was issued a warning.
Race 2   HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY - ADELINE EDMONDS TROT
IM A ROCKSTAR delayed the start when reluctant to turn into line. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. A false start was declared at the first attempt when the barrier failed to clear ISHTAR which lunged forward despite the efforts of Driver T Cameron.
WHAT A SURPRISE - trotted roughly on several occasions shortly after the start. Broke near the 1400m losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Trotted roughly approaching the 50m having to be steadied.
NORMAN THE CONQUEROR - broke entering the first bend losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 1450m losing all chance.
ISHTAR - broke at the start losing all chance.
KAMILLA - broke near the 1800m losing considerable ground.
ALDEBARAN WHAT - pre-race warmed.
MECHANICA - slow early.
Race 3   ELECT TO LIVE - 2002 NZ HORSE OF THE YEAR MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt due to the Starter losing communication with the mobile vehicle driver early in the score up.
LOVEABLE ROGUE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Weakened in the run home. Underwent a veterinary examination after being found to have blood at its nostrils upon returning to the stabling area which revealed the gelding had suffered from exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage. Stood down for the mandatory 30 days with a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination required prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
LEXINGTON QUEEN - Co-Trainers P & V Blanchard were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds. Over-raced middle stages when outside the leader.
ALWAYS BE KIND - over-raced middle stages.
LOVE IT - back from position at dispatch and trailed the field throughout. Broke near the 1700m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier and racing manners.
KALIOPI - broke near the 300m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
Race 4   REMEMBERING SHANE HAYES - RUAKAKA HARNESS LEGEND TROT
ALDEBARAN REDWOOD - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
PATRICK MAHOMES - the removable deafener hood became detached early in the run home after being activated.
KUMANOVO - broke approaching the first bend losing all chance.
PARADISE ALI - lay out leaving the final bend and early stages of the run home despite the efforts of Driver C Hackett.
Race 5   CHEQUER BOARD - THE PRIDE OF TANGITERORIA MOB PACE
REET PETITE - hampered by a breaking runner racing off the crossing near the 1600m and broke losing ground.
DEAR GOD - broke racing off the crossing near the 1600m when leading hampering trailing runners and losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
MIKI MIRAGE - commenced to improve to the inside of PROVISEUR on straightening for the run home but then raced over the final track marker at the entrance to the passing lane and broke losing all chance. Stewards held an investigation into the incident. After hearing the relative evidence from Drivers C Hackett (MIKI MIRAGE) and E Johnson (PROVISEUR) and viewing the replays blame could not be solely attributed to either horse or driver with Stewards taking the the matter no further other than to note the circumstances.
KING TIDE - strongly restrained early stages when caught wide. Broke near the 1300m losing ground. Paced roughly in the run home when weakening.
AVENTADOR - weakened in the run home.
RASMUSSIN EFFECT - hampered and raced wide near the 1500m then had to be steadied off the back of PROVISEUR shifting out to a three wide position.
MUCHACHO - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m with Driver H Orange having to take evasive action which resulted in RASMUSSIN EFFECT racing wider briefly.
PROVISEUR - pulled hard score up and early stages. Paced roughly racing off the crossing near the 1600m. Shifted out leaving the final bend when Driver E Johnson was activating the removable deafeners but was immediately corrected. Weakened in the run home.
Race 6   NEVILLE BROS - WATCH ME TROT CUP HANDICAP TROT
TRAVELIN SOLDIER - required assistance from an attendant prior to the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Broke at the start losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 1800m losing all chance.
TINKERBELLE - lay in contacting track markers rounding the final turn. Weakened in the run home.
LUCA - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly racing off the crossing near the 1600m and trailed the field thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
HILL BILLIE BUNDY - broke near the 300m losing its chance.
CONFESSIONAL - broke near the 1500m losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 7   RUAKAKA BEACHFRONT MOTEL NORTHLAND CUP MOBILE PACE
WALTZING WITH MIKI - had to be steadied off the back of JACCKA OPA approaching the 1200m and broke briefly before being taken around to race outside the leader shortly after.
Race 8   40 YRS SINCE MISTER SQUARE'S 80M EPIC WIN @ RUAKAKA TROT
SHES ALL LEGS - Driver P Ferguson was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner late in the run home.
B D CASTLETON - Driver T Cameron was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion late in the run home.
CYCLONE SALA - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
ROYAL SECRET - broke after 200m losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
