Race 1   McLELLAN SHEARING MOBILE PACE
WARD LAMON - driver M Kyle advised the gelding had hung outwards throughout.
MR PRESIDENT - weakened from the 700m. When asked to comment regarding the performance driver B Orange advised he was disappointed with the run and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.
HAVARTI ARDEN - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
COLD PURSUIT - trainer K Norman was issued with a warning for failing to affix mudguards. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance Mr Norman advised the gelding had been freshened and benefitted from a change in training regime which included beach work.
SHEZZA VINNY - hampered final bend by a weakening runner.
DRAGON POWER - held up final bend.
Race 2   CRONIN FAMILY HANDICAP TROT
RATA - trotted roughly rounding the first bend.
HIDDEN TALENT - lay in rounding the final bend contacting a track marker. Weakened over the concluding stages. When asked to comment regarding the performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised the mare may not have handled the Slushy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.
Race 3   ALABAR SOUTHERN SUPREMACY STAKES (HEAT 3) MOBILE PACE
DANGER ZONE - weakened final bend.
CRUISE MAGUIRE - raced greenly near the 1400m. Shifted out abruptly early in the run home having to be corrected by driver B Williamson, then raced greenly again for the remainder of the home straight.
Following the running of this race the track conditions were upgraded to Easy.
Race 4   CRAIG FERGUSON RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
HIGH RETURN - held up early stages of the run home.
SUZANNE - raced three wide with cover from the 1100m.
TREASURE CHEST - held up final bend.
BORION - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
RAKATURBO - raced three wide without cover from the 1100m.
LEDGER'S MAID - broke in the score up losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on two occasions from a mobile prior to resuming.
CASH IS KING - held up early to middle stages of the run home.
HOKONUI JOEL - raced three wide with cover from the 850m.
Race 5   CURIO BAY SALTHOUSE MOTELS HANDICAP TROT
ROSEANNA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
RACEY KRUSA - broke after 150m losing all chance.
MISTER - weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 6   MACCA LODGE KINDERGARTEN STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
SUVA BABY - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.
CAPTAIN WOLF - raced greenly in the score up.
FANFARE - weakened over the concluding stages.
DREAM ANYWAY - held up final bend.
Race 7   THE YALDY WYNDHAM CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
MACANDREW AVIATOR - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts. Weakened final bend.
ALWAYS DREAMING - pre-race warmed. Tangled away. Held up early stages of the run home.
FRANCO SINATRA - driver C Dalgety advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 8   REGAN TODD RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
RAKAVENOM - when asked to comment on the apparent improved performance trainer T Stratford advised the gelding had been training well in the lead up, had received a run to suit today and he was not surprised by the forward showing.
THE DANCER - held up rounding the final bend and early in the run home.
VAN LIBERTY - trainer T Stratford was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after presenting the gelding with removable deafeners which were not notified.
Race 9   KUBALA SEEDS CHAMPAGNE STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
ALWAYS A MENACE - weakened final bend.
JUST LIKE JAGGER - raced three wide without cover throughout.
EBONY ARDEN - raced three wide with cover throughout.
HALEY JACCKA - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
AKATEA - held up early stages of the run home.
BEACH DAY - raced three wide with cover throughout.
RUBY ROE - raced three wide with cover throughout.
Race 10   DANNY CRENGLE SHEARING MOBILE PACE
ALWAYS TICKING - when asked to comment regarding the performance trainer/driver C Ferguson advised he was very disappointed and could offer no explanation, however later reported that on return to the stabling area post-race the mare had begun to cough. Mr Ferguson further advised he will have ALWAYS TICKING undergo a veterinary examination in the coming days and undertook to advise Stewards of the findings.
ALWAYS BE BOOTIE - held up throughout the run home. Driver B Barclay advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
ALWAYS BE BATMAN - driver H Douglas was issued with a warning for loose reining in the run home.
NUTCRACKER - out of position at the start. Driver K Green was issued with a warning.
LEITHEN LOUIE - over-raced when trailing in the early stages causing driver B Orange some difficulty. Stewards spoke with Mr Orange who confirmed the gelding had over-raced and commenced to hang outwards so he elected to shift out from the trailing position for safety reasons. When asked to comment regarding the performance Mr Orange advised that over-racing in the early stages and again in the middle stages from the 1000m had taken its toll on the gelding.
