Trainer J Young advised Stewards on 27 March that LADY OF THE LIGHT has recovered well from her disappointing performance which he could only attribute to the mare coming into season.

Race 1   RUAKAKA - EASTER MONDAY - HARNESS ON THE GRASS MOB PACE
GOTTA GO MIKI - paced roughly then broke passing the 150m. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
THE NIGHT AGENT - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver S Phelan could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no findings of significance on endoscopy. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
MAKO - disappointed for a run in the passing lane approaching the 100m and was then held up for the remainder. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Herlihy advised that after going back from the wide draw he had not received a trail into the race as he had hoped and had felt not to be travelling well enough given the strong tempo to look to improve without cover. Mr Herlihy further added that it was this runner's first race for a month and he expected that the gelding would derive benefit from the run.
Race 2   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PUKEKOHE HANDICAP TROT
SANTAPAZIENZA - lay in rounding the turns.
JASINOVA - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
SANS AU REVOIR - lay in near the 300m when under pressure placing an inside runner in restricted room.
EMILY BAY - weakened in the run home.
WESTAR MILLY - broke briefly at the start. Placed in restricted room by an outside runner near the 300m contacting and racing over track markers.
FATHER BARRY - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dickie advised that he was disappointed with the effort and added that the gelding is to be freshened prior to resuming.
HIGHER POWER - when questioned regarding the performance Driver H Orange advised that after starting off the 30m handicap it had taken a considerable distance to make up the ground and he had then not received a trail into the race despite FATHER BARRY, which he was trailing, attempting to improve near the 650m. Mr Orange further added that he had been more than satisfied with the manner in which the gelding had finished the event off when making up considerable ground in the run home.
Race 3   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY MOBILE PACE
MISS CHEROKEE - Driver D Butcher advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
DOLLY PARTON - became fractious when in the pre-race formation with Driver S Abernethy having to alight from the sulky after the filly got a shaft over its rump. Then required assistance from an attendant with a warning being placed on this runner's barrier manners. Lay in near the 900m having to be steadied and paced roughly for several strides. Paced roughly again near the 300m after having been shifted wider by an inside runner.
EVERNDEN - paced roughly rounding the final turn.
SECRET BEACH - required assistance from an attendant prior to the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Raced wide early before being restrained to the rear.
SAMMY LINCOLN - paced roughly late in the score up losing ground. Driver H Orange advised that the removable deafeners had failed to activate despite his efforts.
MR PUTT - checked by an outside runner shortly after the start and broke briefly losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
SRIRACHA - raced greenly shortly after the start becoming awkwardly placed to the sulky of MIDNIGHT BETTY resulting in an inside runner being checked. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
Race 4   CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS TROT
CAVIAR NOIRE - stood on the mark when the barriers were released losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Weakened final turn.
BARSUKOV - Driver L Chin encountered difficulty activating the removable deafeners rounding the final turn. Dr Chin was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
YUROK - weakened leaving the final turn.
FABIANA - slow early losing considerable ground.
Race 5   GRAND PARK MOBILE PACE
AMAZING CAPTAIN - over-raced when being steadied to surrender the lead entering the front straight on the first occasion.
JUST JAMES - Trainer Z Meredith was issued a warning for being late to notify Driver B Wilkins.
MS COLLINS - raced wide early.
FRANCO SALAH - broke entering the first turn losing ground before settling.
Race 6   NATIONAL STYLE STAKES - FRIDAY 1 MAY AT ALEX PARK TROT
STRANDED - swung outwards when the barrier was released hampering an outside runner and was slow early. Crowded by an outside runner entering the first turn contacting track markers.
BONNY PARKER - hampered by an inside runner shortly after the start. Lay in rounding the final turn dislodging a track marker.
ISHTAR - lay in and broke near the 400m losing all chance.
CENTAURUS(AUS) - pre-race warmed. Broke at the start losing considerable ground.
WILLSKYFLY - broke near the 800m losing ground.
WHAT A SURPRISE - lay in and trotted roughly near the 1850m. Raced wide before breaking near the 1600m losing considerable ground. Hampered by a breaking runner passing the 200m.
ALDEBARAN WHAT - pre-race warmed. Raced four wide from the 600m.
HEAVENLY BELLE - broke near the 400m when leading and was taken down inside the marker line to clear trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
FLOSSY POPS - slow early. Broke near the 800m losing ground. Driver B Hackett was warned for shifting inwards entering the first turn crowding an inside runner down onto track markers.
IM A ROCKSTAR - raced wide early. Weakened from the 500m. Lay in contacting a track marker passing the 400m.
