Trainer/Driver S Phelan defended a charge under Rule 303(2)(a), alleging misconduct towards a Club official. After hearing the relative evidence from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and imposed a fine of $550.

Race 1   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES MOBILE PACE
LEO LINCOLN - over-raced middle stages.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - when questioned regarding the performance Driver M Ranger advised the mare raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 2   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION HANDICAP TROT
HILL BILLIE BUNDY - trotted roughly and lost ground rounding the final bend.
KAIPAKI JACK - lay inwards near the 1350m striking a track marker.
VORONOV - a subsequent veterinary examination revealed lameness in the left hind leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming
TWO FRANCS - raced wide early. Lay inwards and trotted roughly when attempting to lead near the 1500m. Trotted roughly and lost ground rounding the final bend.
ONE MORE MOMENT - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 3   BORDER FENCING SERVICES MOBILE PACE
HILARIOUS LOVE - over-raced middle stages. Badly hampered by a weakening runner from near the 950m for a distance losing ground. Weakened in the run home.
IT'S NOT KATHY - badly hampered by a weakening runner near the 950m then shifted outwards forcing HEAVEN HIGH wider on the track. Stewards questioned Drivers T Cameron (IT'S NOT KATHY) and M Ranger (HEAVEN HIGH) in relation to this incident. It was established that HEAVEN HIGH had lay inwards when IT'S NOT KATHY shifted ground to its inside and overreacted. Notwithstanding this Mr Cameron was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances in the future.
MICK KONSTANTIN - badly hampered by a weakening runner from near the 950m for a distance losing ground. Driver J Abernethy reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners as a result.
IRON MIKE TYSON - broke entering the first bend losing ground before settling at the rear. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Broke again near the 950m when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner losing further ground. When questioned regarding the incident, Driver M White advised that the horse had failed to respond when being shifted wider after breaking at a similar point earlier in the race. Notwithstanding this, Driver Z Butcher (THE NIGHT AGENT) was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances in the future.
ALL OF ME - raced wide early. Weakened from the 1000m hampering trailing runners and was retired from the event. Driver C Dalgety admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion near the 1000m. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Dalgety could offer no tangible reason. A post-race endoscopy detected a degree of mucus that may have affected the horse's racing performance. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.
HEAVEN HIGH - hampered by an inside runner near the 950m and raced greenly . Weakened from the 500m.
THE NIGHT AGENT - hampered and shifted outwards checking an outside runner near the 950m.
Race 4   MAGNESS BENROW SIRES STAKES NORTHERN MARES CLASSIC MOB PACE
CANDY CANE - weakened rounding the final bend.
PRINCESS GRACY - pre-race warmed. Driver Z Butcher admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butcher's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including the 29th March 2026 (3 days) and imposed a fine of $190.
SPIRITUAL BLISS - over-raced middle stages. Driver H Orange advised the mare was striking the wheel discs.
ULTIMATE CULLECT - raced wide from the 950m. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 5   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION 3YO FILLIES FINAL MOB PACE
OPA'S GIRL - raced wide from the 1400m before locking on the outside rein from near the 900m causing Driver D Butcher considerable difficulty. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
TIME FOR CHANGE - when asked to comment on the performance Driver Z Butcher could offer no tangible reason. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
FLY HIGH - lay inwards and broke near the 1100m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
WAT NEXT - over-raced middle stages.
QUEEN LIZZY - raced wide early.
SMACKDOWN - raced wide with cover for a distance middle stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100m.
SHEZSOFAST - weakened final bend and locked wheels with an outside runner near the 400m checking a trailing runner which broke.
LITTLE LILY - checked and broke near the 350m.
BLACK BEAUTY - awkwardly placed to the inside of OPA'S GIRL, which was hanging inwards, and then WAT NEXT before locking wheels with an inside runner near the 400m with the trailing LITTLE LILY being checked.
Race 6   LONE STAR ALEXANDRA PARK LYELL CREEK STAKES MOBILE TROT
BELLE NEIGE - over-raced middle stages when leading. Weakened rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
OSCAR BONAVENA - pre-race warmed. Lay inwards and broke near the 1900m losing ground before settling. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the horse had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
EMPIRE CITY - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
YA RITE DARL - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
Race 7   GALLAGHER INSURANCE DELIGHTFUL LADY CLASSIC YG 2YOF MOB PACE
LEGALLY BLONDE - paced roughly as the start was effected. Over-raced early stages.
SUPERMODELLE - raced wide from the 600m. Weakened leaving the final bend.
TIARE MAGIC - Driver A Butt admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion at the top of the home straight. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 22nd March up to and including 01 April 2026 (5 days).
ETERNAL PERFECTION - raced greenly in the score up and was back from position at the candy pole despite the efforts of Driver C Ferguson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Raced wide early.
Race 8   AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS 300-3000 CITY OF AUCKLAND FFA MOB PACE
WE WALK BY FAITH - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the concluding stages. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Driver M White had the opportunity to review the replays to ascertain if there was sufficient grounds for a protest against the 1st placing of THE LAZARUS EFFECT. After reviewing the replays Mr White elected not to proceed with the matter and all placings were authorised.
REPUBLICAN PARTY - pre-race warmed.
JOLIMONT - raced wide early.
THE LAZARUS EFFECT - lay inwards contacting and racing inside a track marker final bend.
Race 9   BRECKON FARMS CARDIGAN BAY STAKES YG 2YO C & G MOB PACE
LEON GALLEON - over-raced middle stages. Struck and raced inside a track marker final bend. Driver T Williams was issued a $200 Minor Infringement Notice.
LAYTON DAVID - over-raced middle stages.
ARISUS - weakened in the run home.
TOUR PARTY - raced wide early. Driver C Dalgety reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
WE WILL RISE AGAIN - over-raced early stages.
Race 10   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION 3YO C & G FINAL MOB PACE
LINCOLN WAVE - raced inside the final track marker. Driver T Herlihy was issued a $200 Minor Infringement Notice.
JOHNNY LINCOLN - raced wide from the 1300m.
EUN SOGNO - required assistance from a starting attendant in the pre-race formation. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
NYMBAL - had difficulty obtaining clear running inside the final 100m.
SONOFAMISTERY - held up early stages of the run home. When attempting a marginal run between JUMAL and ALLAMERICANPLAYER, had to be steadied after being placed in restricted room when ALLAMERICANPLAYER lay outwards near the 40m. Driver T Williams didn't activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
ALLAMERICANPLAYER - lay outwards having to be straightened by Driver A Butt near the 40m.
Race 11   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES HANDICAP TROT
SON OF THE CLEANER - fractious prior to the start. Over-raced middle stages.
JOE KENNEDY - raced wide early. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
BUSY CANOODLING - broke briefly rounding the final bend.
PARADISE ALI - broke rounding the first bend losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
HAPPY HILL - began awkwardly. Raced wide from the 800m.
CAVIAR NOIRE - stood on the mark and backed away after the start was effected losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
HILLBILLY - pre-race warmed. Slow early stages. Hampered final bend.
MISS BEBE - reared as the start was effected. Broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Broke briefly rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the mare.
JASINOVA - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
