| GIFT CARD - the required Veterinary Clearance was received. Lay in final bend contacting a track marker. Observed post-race to have blood present in the left nostril. A subsequent veterinary examination including an endoscopic procedure revealed blood in the trachea diagnosed as Grade 4 exercised-induced pulmonary haemorrhage. GIFT CARD is stood down for the mandatory period of 30 days with connections advised a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination would be required prior to the gelding completing a satisfactory trial before resuming racing. | |

Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule at this stage of the race, where it was established that driver R McIlwrick (HE'S ROBYN) had commenced his outwards movement prior to RAKAMICK reaching his sulky wheel, accordingly no further action was required. | |

When asked to comment on the performance driver T Williams advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation, adding he would have the gelding undergo a veterinary examination on return to its home stable. Stewards will follow up the results with connections in the coming days. | |

Stewards spoke with driver K Butt regarding this incident who advised that she had shifted her runner wider on the track to avoid a weakening runner rounding the final bend and after doing so had then attempted to shift back down the track and follow the helmet of HAVTIMEWILLFLY, however BETTOR WAY had swung its off hind leg out making contact with the sulky wheel of DENY EVERYTHING which was racing to her outside, and broke in consequence. After hearing from Miss Butt and viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied with the explanation tendered and took no further action other than to place a warning on the racing record of BETTOR WAY and note the circumstances. | |
