Race 1 - NZMCA PARKING AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY MOBILE PACE
Junior Driver B Wilkins (BUGALUGS), assisted by S Abernethy, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that she used her whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicator suspended Ms Wilkins' driver's licence from the completion of racing on the 13 March up to and including 20 March 2026 (3 days).

Race 1   SPONSOR A RACE MOBILE PACE
EASY DOES IT - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Paced roughly then broke for several strides near the 250m losing ground.
SUPER FUND - broke when leading near the 1850m before veering to the outside of the track losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 2   LIFE MEMBER HANDICAP TROT
TIKI - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Driver A Pyers admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 100m when shifting ground inwards resulting in contact being made to MECHANICA which trotted roughly as a result. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicator imposed a fine of $300.
MECHANICA - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule entering the front straight on the first occasion when this runner appeared to be forced to race wider when TIKI shifted away from the marker line. It was established that Driver A Pyers (TIKI) had commenced his outward movement prior to MECHANICA reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary. Contacted by an outside runner when weakening near the 100m and trotted roughly for several strides.
MASS DISRUPTION - broke near the 300m when to the inside of RUBBLE ON THE DOUBLE, which lay in, but soon settled.
RUBBLE ON THE DOUBLE - lay in rounding the final turn despite the efforts of Driver P Ferguson.
PAT BENATAR - lost contact with the body of the field near the 1300m and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the mare's racing performance.
SO MYSTIFYING - slow early losing considerable ground before catching the body of the field near the 850m. Weakened final turn.
Race 3   DON HAYDOCK MOBILE PACE
MAGIE DO - lay in near the 450m locking wheels briefly with an inside runner. Continued to lay in rounding the final turn. Driver S Abernethy reported that the removable deafeners failed to activate despite his efforts.
EASTWOOD ADMIRAL - held up briefly rounding the final turn.
MAJOR NIGHTMARE - over-raced middle stages. Driver B Towers was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
MAJOR MOONSHINE - over-raced middle stages. Locked wheels briefly with an outside runner near the 450m and paced roughly for several strides.
RUN BLAZE RUN - raced wide early.
RUTHERFORD - lay out under pressure throughout the run home.
CANNED HEAT - broke approaching the first turn losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners.
Race 4   GOOD LUCK DAVE RENNIE MOBILE PACE
MATARIKI - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J Abernethy advised that the filly was up in grade and may not have backed up from its first day run.
THE MANDALORIAN - raced wide from the 800m before weakening rounding the final turn.
Race 5   KEN FRASER MEMORIAL COUNTRY CUP HCP TROT
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - trotted roughly rounding the first turn losing considerable ground.
KOKO KABOOM - broke entering the first turn losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 1300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
SON OF PATRICK - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
VERY MAJESTIC - over-raced middle stages. Unsuccessfully contested for a position in the running line inside the 1000m.
MANCHESTER IN TIME - Trainer F Mitchell was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified blinds.
ROMEO FOXTROT - when questioned regarding the performance Driver H Orange could offer not explanation other than the gelding may be feeling the effects of recent racing.
Race 6   RURAL GAMES THIS WEEKEND COUNTRY CUP HCP PACE
STEALERS WHEEL - broke briefly at the start. Held up rounding the final turn.
MIDFREW LUCRE - broke briefly at the start. Commenced to over-race after surrendering the lead near the 1150m.
CAPTAIN KOBE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
BLUE CHIP LOU - Driver S Doody admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicator suspended Mr Doody's driver's licence from conclusion of racing tonight upto and including 31st March 2026 (2 days).
Race 7   FESTIVAL CUP 29TH MARCH MOBILE PACE
INDISPOSED - over-raced early and middle stages.
COSMIC STAR - weakened in the run home.
RHAEGAL - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the lead near 1450m.
GWENDOLINE MARY - weakened in the run home.
TRES BONNE FILLE - over-raced middle stages.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - weakened in the run home.
COURAGE REACTOR - pulled hard in the score up. Commenced to over-race entering the back straight the first time and was taken out to improve three wide. Was obliged to remain three wide without cover when the parked position, which was being held by the over-racing INDISPOSED, was not available. Lost ground racing down the back the final time before weakening further from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
