Race 4 - CANTERBURY HONDA - THANKS FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE AT CATR PACE
Junior driver M Holbrough (FOLIEJON STAR) assisted by senior driver S Tomlinson, admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that she shifted her runner outwards near the 1200m forcing PLAYING WITH STARS wider on the track. After hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
Race 10 - GOODWIN CONTRACTING MOBILE PACE
Driver B Munro (DOVER TERRACE) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Munro's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 15 March up to and including 20 March 2026 (2 days).

Race 10 - WESTPORT NEW WORLD HANDICAP PACE
Junior driver M Holbrough (FOLIEJON STAR) assisted by senior driver S Tomlinson, admitted a breach of Rule 868(2) in that she failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to win the race or obtain the best possible finishing position by electing not to utilise the passing lane in the run home when the opportunity existed. After hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Holbrough's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 8 March up to and including 20 March 2026 (5 days).

Race 1   LANTERN COURT MOTEL HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed due to driver P Nairn (ROBBIE K) anticipating the start resulting in ROBBIE K contacting the barrier strand which activated as a consequence. As a result, all runners had to be turned away to readdress the barriers. Subsequently, Mr Nairn was issued a $200 Minor Infringement Notice.
WOT UP TYRON - broke early in the run home losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
ROBBIE K - trotted roughly in the run home.
REPENDANT - broke after 150m losing all chance and was retired from the race.
IMPERIAL KNIGHT - hung outwards abruptly when attempting to improve wide from the 700m causing driver S Thornley some difficulty before weakening from the 600m.
BIG AL - weakened from the 600m.
ONNAHILL - broke after 100m losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Raced wide middle stages. Weakened from the 600m.
Race 2   ALISON SMITH MEMORIAL PACE
WHATSUPMAN - held up early in the run home. Driver R Close was issued a warning for extending his hands in a manner that lengthened the reins, thereby allowing him to loose rein over the concluding stages.
WILLY AWAY - paced roughly early in the run home.
THE TOWN OF LIGHT - hung inwards through the early stages causing driver S Thornley difficulty.
PICK IT UP - hung inwards and paced roughly leaving the final bend and again passing the 150m.
Race 3   HOTEL REEFTON LIQUOR MOBILE PACE
EVIDENTLY - Driver J Curtin was issued a warning for allowing his sulky to strike a track marker near the 1400m. Held up early in the run home.
PROSPERITY - raced fiercely final bend with driver K Tomlinson experiencing difficulty restraining the gelding, which on several occasions made significant contact with the helmet of driver J Curtin (EVIDENTLY) to which it was following.
BROMAC TIMES - weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections advised they would no longer be persevering with the gelding as a racing proposition from their stable.
A BETTER JACKALACK - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1750m. Held up early in the run home.
HEZ A LOCH - weakened in the run home.
SARGENT HENRY - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 4   ATL ELECTRICAL REEFTON (TEAM TEAL) TROT
SOLEMN SON - hung inwards through the early and middle stages and broke when racing over the crossing near the 1100m causing driver T Duley difficulty when attempting to shift the breaking runner up the track with trailing runners being hampered. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the running.
NOAH MAGNIFIC - hampered near the 1100m.
SIGNAL HILL - hampered near the 1100m.
SHEILA LAXON - hampered near the 1100m.
ZHUTEE - broke near the 1050m after a slight easing of the pace losing all chance and was retired from the race.
MORRIE AFTON - held up early in the run home.
SWITCH ON - broke after 100m losing ground. Trotted roughly in the run home.

MAJOR MISS - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend and was forced to race inside several track markers.

TAIKA - broke when racing over the crossing rounding the first bend hampering trailing runners losing ground. Broke again when racing over the crossing near the 1100m losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
GIRL'S NIGHT OUT - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.

IFYOUCOULDCWHATIC - broke when racing over the crossing rounding the first bend losing ground. Broke again near the 300m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.

Race 6   KAWATIRI PALMS BEACH PARK (TEAM TEAL) MOBILE PACE
CAPTAIN COOL - raced greenly when racing over the crossing near the 1100m and was shifted wider on the track by driver S Ottley.
FOX TERROR - hung inwards and raced ungenerously near the 500m momentarily locking wheels with TROUBLESHOOTER. Again locked wheels briefly with TROUBLESHOOTER passing the 400m.
TROUBLESHOOTER - locked wheels momentarily with FOX TERROR near the 500m. Paced roughly following another brief locking of wheels with FOX TERROR near the 400m. Broke near the 300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
APATCHOFGOLD - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened over the final stages.
TIMES LIKE THESE - raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
ANYTIME AT ALL - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 1300m.

Race 8   DAWSONS HOTEL INANGAHUA / GREY VALLEY CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
A false start was declared after the 10-metre barrier strand failed to clear all runners as the start was effected. Stewards spoke with the Starter and reviewed the available race films in order to determine whether any individual horse or driver had contributed to the incident. After considering all available evidence, Stewards were unable to attribute responsibility to any one runner or driver. Accordingly, no further action was deemed necessary and the matter was taken no further.
THE COALMAN - struck track markers near the 1100m when shifting ground inwards to avoid a breaking runner.
TEDS LEGACY - broke at the start losing ground. Checked by a breaking runner near the 1100m losing ground.
STILL ROCKIN - broke racing over the crossing near the 1100m checking trailing runners losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
BRUNTWOOD BRIGADE - checked and broke near the 1100m losing all chance.
SPIRIT DOWNUNDER - checked by a breaking runner near the 1100m losing ground. Driver O Thornley was issued a warning for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
TABASCO - broke at the start losing ground. Checked by a breaking runner near the 2100m.
HACKSAW RIDGE - hung inwards and broke near the 2100m checking a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.

WATERLOO STATION - connections advised the gelding would be racing without front shoes.
DARK GHANA - broke leaving the final bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
RACHMANINOV - broke in the early stages losing ground.
Race 10   GREYMOUTH STAR HANDICAP PACE
HOPE FOR LOVE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Raced fiercely into the first bend striking track markers despite the efforts of driver A Tomlinson. Continued to race fiercely through the middle stages.
RED WINE KISSES - broke shortly after the start hampering trailing runners losing ground.
ARTMORE - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Raced wide from the 1300m. Weakened from the 500m.
MATTIE NEVIN - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
FRANCO HUMBIE - raced wide from the 1300m. Weakened over the final stages.
FITZTHEBILL - hung inwards approaching the 1100m placing STYLE COUNCIL in restricted room momentarily.

Race 11   ENDURA SNOWY RIVER GOLD MOBILE PACE
Following the event, Stewards afforded Starter Mr R Donnelly the opportunity to provide an explanation regarding the circumstances surrounding the start, specifically why he had not declared a false start after BIG GEE broke during the score-up, which resulted in TEMPO WARRIOR having to be checked by driver S Ottley and consequently required to start the race out of position. After carefully considering the evidence tendered by Mr Donnelly and reviewing the available race replays, Stewards formed the view that interference to TEMPO WARRIOR had occurred prior to the start which warranted the declaration of a false start. Accordingly, Mr Donnelly was issued with a charge under Starting Regulation 22.2.2, alleging that he failed to declare a false start in circumstances where interference had occurred prior to the start of the race. Mr Donnelly admitted the breach with the Adjudicative Committee imposing a fine of $250. Stewards gave further consideration as to whether, due to a false start not being declared, TEMPO WARRIOR had been denied a fair start. However, as the gelding subsequently finished in 4th placing, the provisions of the Rules did not permit Stewards to declare the runner a late scratching on the grounds that it had been denied a fair start.
LORTON VALE - hampered late in the run home.
DANCING N HEAVEN - raced wide early.
AMALFI - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly in the run home with a trailing runner being hampered over the concluding stages.
BIG GEE - broke in the score up obliging TEMPO WARRIOR to check and start out of its allocated position. Continued in a break through the initial stages. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered leaving the final bend.
STANLEY'S RULE - raced wide early. Hampered leaving the final bend and raced inside track markers as a consequence.
JUST ASK PADDY - broke leaving the final bend hampering inside runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DESTINY'S DREAM - over-raced middle stages.
TEMPO WARRIOR - checked in the score up by BIG GEE requiring driver S Ottley to shift outwards to avoid this runner and as a consequence started out of its allocated position.
Top
