Pre-race blood testing was carried out.

Following Race 1 senior drivers expressed their concern to Stewards regarding the deep nature of the track and in particular on the marker line with this being passed onto the club and track staff. Stewards took this into account when assessing horse penalties. The club confirmed that remedial work is scheduled for early next week with the track to be resurfaced.

Race 1   HARNESS MILLIONS RACE NIGHT FRI 20 MARCH MOBILE PACE
DEAR GOD - co-trainers P & V Blanchard were issued a warning for presenting the mare to race with removable deafeners not notified.
OPA'S GIRL - weakened in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination at the trainer's request revealed no findings of significance on endoscopy.
SMACKDOWN - trainer S Reid was issued a warning for presenting the filly to race without the notified blinds and removable deafeners.
IRON MIKE TYSON - pre-race warmed. Raced wide early. Broke near the 1800m hampering a trailing runner losing ground before being restrained to the rear.
SIGNMAN - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1750m.
CRITICAL IMAGE - raced wide without cover until crossing to the parked position near the 1200m.
MS COLLINS - lay in and paced roughly in the score up.
HEY MIKI - paced roughly near the 1750m. Lay out rounding the final turn and broke near the 250m losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a deep laceration to the left fore medial caudal heel which required treatment. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
NYMBAL - raced four wide from the 600m. Shifted in approaching the 50m having to be corrected by Driver J Dickie.
Race 2   GROVE MITRE 10 HANDICAP TROT
RISE TO THE OCCASION - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Broke at the start losing ground.
YUROK - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final turn before losing further ground in the run home.
B D CASTLETON - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
SANINARMBRO - over-raced early before being taken forward to lead near the 1400m.
HELSINGOR - weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner.
CONRAD H - when questioned regarding the performance Driver B Wilkins advised that in her opinion the gelding had failed to handle tonight's track.
Race 3   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY - SOUTH OF THE BOMBAYS COND MOB PACE
MR MIKI - paced roughly rounding the final turn. Held up early in the run home having to be strongly restrained before contacting the sulky wheel of BILLY THE KID near the 100m and broke checking a trailing runner losing its chance. Stewards were satisfied that driver Z Butcher had not driven carelessly in this incident and took the matter no further.
MARY MAGDALENE - contacted track markers near the 250m when weakening.
MIKI MIRAGE - raced wide early. Paced roughly rounding the final turn and shifted out having to be steadied.
KATIES PRINCESS - raced wide without cover throughout. Promoted to 4th placing.
CAULFIELD - held up early in the run home having to shift ground outwards to secure clear racing room.
MIDFREW LUCRE - raced wide with cover throughout. Driver J Abernethy reported that he had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking.
THE NIGHT FOX - held up final turn and early stages of the run home. Checked by a breaking runner passing the 100m and broke losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ENZO - lost ground when at the rear racing through the front straight at the first occasion. Broke under pressure over the final 35m. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(5) against this runner's 4th placing alleging the gelding was lapped on by the 5th placed KATIES PRINCESS at the finish line. Driver D Butcher did not contest the protest and ENZO was relegated to 5th placing by Stewards. Mr Butcher reported that the near side sliding blind failed to activate.
Race 4   MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS HANDICAP TROT
PARAMOUNT KIWI - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly shortly after the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1150m. Placed on the unruly for future stands at the Trainer's request.
CONFESSIONAL - broke passing the 1150m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again passing the 400m losing all chance.
Race 5   DAWSON HARFORD MOBILE PACE
BLAZING LOUIE - lay in near the 750m contacting track markers with one marker being dislodged. Weakened in the run home.
LEO LINCOLN - weakened rounding the final turn.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - weakened in the run home.
DOO YOU WANT ME - shifted out early in the run home having to be corrected by Driver T Herlihy.
Race 6   H R FISKEN & SONS NORTHERN TROTTING BREEDERS STAKES HCP TROT
ONE MORE MOMENT - broke passing the 400m losing all chance.
COURMAYEUR - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Broke again rounding the first turn losing all chance and retired from the event.
WALKINONSUNSHINE - held up briefly rounding the final turn having to be steadied.
BELLE NEIGE - slow early losing ground. Driver C Hackett reported that she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 7   GRAND PARK - NORTHERN METRO PACERS FINAL MOBILE PACE
NAZARE - hampered when held up rounding the final turn. Weakened in the run home.
THE NIGHT AGENT - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader before improving to lead near the 1050m. Weakened rounding the final turn hampering a trailing runner. Lay in contacting track markers near the 250m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver H Orange confirmed that the over-racing had taken its toll.
ALLAMERICANPLAYER - raced wide for a distance middle stages before improving to lead near the 500m. Paced roughly for several strides near the 450m. Shifted out leaving the final turn having to be corrected.
PRINCESS GRACY - pre-race warmed. Raced wide from the 1500m.
WORDS - over-raced middle stages. Weakened rounding the final turn.
Race 8   CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS METRO TROTTERS FINAL HCP TROT
HILLBILLY - pre-race warmed. Over-raced middle stages when leading.
SON OF THE CLEANER - lay in and raced over a track marker near the 900m. Continued to lay in losing ground near the 800m and then again rounding the final turn losing further ground.
BRASS RAZOO - lay in and raced over a track marker near the 900m. Placed in restricted room by an outside runner near the 250m. Lay in contacting track markers leaving the final turn with two markers being dislodged. Weakened in the run home.
FINAL APPROACH - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
VORONOV - raced wide without cover from the 1400m. Trotted roughly under pressure in the run home before breaking near the 100m. Driver K Coppins was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which she shifted ground near the 1400m.
FEARLESS - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened rounding the final turn.
EYRE I WILL - Driver S Abernethy was warned for the manner in which he shifted ground crowding an inside runner near the 250m.
FATHER BARRY - pre-race warmed. Raced wide with cover from the 1400m.
HIGHER POWER - raced wide with cover from the 1400m.

MAKO - lay in rounding the final turn and shifted wider when being corrected.
