| TWO FRANCS - pre-race warmed. Lay inwards rounding the bends. Raced greenly and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of KAIPAKI JACK when CONRAD H was shifting inwards near the 650m and struck the sulky wheel which punctured. Stewards questioned drivers L Neal (TWO FRANCS) and B Wilkins (CONRAD H) and after hearing explanations from both drivers Stewards could not apportion full blame to either horse or driver and took the matter no further.
