Race 1   ASCOT FOUR SQUARE MOBILE PACE
PACIFIC ARC - over-raced in the score up. Held up final bend.
MAGIC SIGN - hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m.
ABULL - when asked to comment regarding the performance driver R McIlwrick advised that although he had sustained some pressure during the race he was disappointed with the effort of the gelding.
HAVARTI ARDEN - raced wide early stages. Over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m.
COLD PURSUIT - raced wide early stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m.
VAN LIBERTY - held up early stages of the run home.
HAZER - over-raced in the score up causing driver K Tomlinson some difficulty.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - the near side hopple carrier strap became detached during the running. Trainer B Norman was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix gear so as not to come adrift.
SUPERFAST - broke passing the 1800m losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Compounded from the 800m hampering trailing runners, finishing a distance behind the field. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 2   OMALASS DRIED MOLASSES MOBILE PACE
BYLLEE J - driver B Barclay was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
TURN N BURN - shifted up the track in the home straight. Driver C Ferguson was issued with a warning to ensure he maintains a straight course in the run home. Trainer C Ferguson reported he would give consideration to sending the mare for a spell.
KAIRAKI VEGAS - weakened from the 400m. When questioned regarding the performance connections advised they were disappointed with the effort. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
DAME WEST - out of position at the start. Junior driver M Kyle, assisted by A Kyle, was shown replays of the start and reminded of her obligations in relation to maintaining her correct barrier position until the start point. In taking this course of action Stewards took into account Miss Kyle's lack of experience, this being her second race day drive.
SHOOTFORTHESTARS - broke passing the 500m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
Race 3   MARK JONES RACING STABLES TROT
MISTER - broke passing the 400m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
GARONNE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400m.
KAY'S TOO COOL - fractious prior to the start and was unable to take up its correct barrier position then broke as the start was effected losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
GLENDHU MISCHIEF - broke passing the 400m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
PHISHING - struck a track marker on the final bend when driver T Robertson was activating gear. Driver T Robertson was issued with a warning.
FIR - fractious in the pre-race formation and was sent to the Unruly position by the Starter where the mare will remain for future standing starts. Hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
FRANCO HEFNER - broke at the start losing all chance.
ROSEANNA - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
IDLE LILLY - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Lay inwards near the 900m contacting a track marker.
FIERY ADI - broke rounding the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
THE BRUISER - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
WHAT'S THE WHISPER - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver P Williamson admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein near the 250m. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a suspension of Mr Williamson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 25 January up to and including 1 February 2026, 2 days.
Race 4   CRUICKSHANK PRYDE / APPARELMASTER MOBILE PACE
RIP WHEELER - lay inwards and paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start before losing ground over the early stages. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 400m.
SKYANA - lay inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C Ferguson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened from the 400m.
HE'S ROBYN - weakened from the 700m.
SWAHILI - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R Stevens. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
LOUIES ME DAD - raced wide early.
ROBYN ROCKS HEAVEN - weakened from the 400m.
Race 5   SHANE MATHESON CRUTCHING MOBILE PACE
THE ORANGE ROUGHY - hampered by a weakening runner near the 400m.
TASHS BAD GIRL - weakened from the 400m hampering a trailing runner. Driver N Kyle reported she had sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
LOU'S DEAL - held up early stages of the run home.
RIGHTAZZ - driver B Williamson admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 700m when shifting ground outwards and contacting the sulky wheel of TASHS BAD GIRL resulting in the tyre puncturing. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
NOVEMBER NINE - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly over the concluding stages.
RISE UP N DANCE - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 5.12pm after becoming fractious in the tie-up stall and sustaining a small wound to the left hock which was treated.
KUSAMA - shifted outwards leaving the final bend contacting the front leg of PARTY UP DENARIO which broke briefly losing ground. Stewards questioned drivers C Ferguson (KUSAMA) and B Barclay (PARTY UP DENARIO) where it was established that Mr Ferguson had begun his outwards movement when sufficient advantage over outside runners existed, however PARTY UP DENARIO had been slow to react to the movement resulting in the advantage over SPORTY CHARLIE to the outside of Mr Barclay dissipating and contact being made. After viewing the replays which confirmed this Stewards could apportion blame to no one driver or horse and took the matter no further.
PARTY UP DENARIO - lay inwards when being forced wider by KUSAMA leaving the final bend and broke briefly losing ground.
SPORTY CHARLIE - driver B Morris was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Race 6   SOUTHERN CRUTCHING & TAILING / DUSTY PAINTERS HANDICAP TROT
SPIRITINTHESKY - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
ERROL D - broke at the start losing ground.
HARRIET'S MOMENT - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up final bend. Driver K Tomlinson reported the mare had cast the near hind plate during the running.
KRACKALING - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
TORQUAY STREET - slow to turn into line causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
PRACTICAL MAGIC - broke after 100m losing considerable ground.
STYRAX - slow to begin. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
Race 7   SOUTHERN BRED SOUTHERN REARED MOBILE PACE
RAKAMICK - raced wide early.
JENNY GUMP - lay inwards and struck several track markers rounding the final bend. Weakened over the concluding stages.
BROOKIES PLAYER - raced wide early. Jostled for a position with JUST LIKE JAGGER for a distance passing the 1800m. Checked by a breaking runner near the 1700m. Weakened from the 400m.
WARD LAMON - weakened leaving the final bend.
JACCKA EVAN - raced wide early.
JUST LIKE JAGGER - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. Jostled for a position with BROOKIES PLAYER for a distance passing the 1800m.
BELUGA - broke near the 1700m checking a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
OUTBACK MAN - weakened over the concluding stages.
Race 8   PRYDE'S EASIFEED SOUTHERN LIGHTS (HANDICAP TROT)
HIDDEN TALENT - over-raced middle stages. Broke passing the 200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
BRING ON THE MUSCLE - fractious prior to the start and was back from its Unruly position at dispatch. Weakened from the 400m.
Race 9   KUBALA SEEDS MOBILE PACE
CRACKER OPIE - over-raced middle stages. Driver C Ferguson was issued with a warning for being late to arrive at the start area.
SOUTHSIDE OF HEAVEN - shifted ground outwards near the 650m becoming awkwardly placed to the sulky of NEK DELIGHT and contacted the wheel of this runner with the tyre puncturing in consequence. Stewards will speak to driver M Williamson in the coming days regarding the manner he drove at this stage of the race.
HERB - weakened from the 400m. Driver E Barron reported the gelding had been striking a knee. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
NEK DELIGHT - over-raced early stages. Driver M Hurrell reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
ALWAYS BE BOOTIE - raced wide early.
STEP IT UP A NOTCH - driver H Douglas reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
HALEY JACCKA - raced wide early.
Race 10   OKAPUA FARMING TROT
HENNESSY - lay inwards final bend striking a track marker.
DONT LOOK KOBE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of connections.
THE GREEK FREAK - hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
HUCKLEBERRY - broke passing the 700m hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
JACCKA ACE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
KYLE LOCH - lay inwards passing the 1300m striking a track marker. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
GEENA'S GIFT - broke near the 100m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
