Race 1   NELSON BAYS SUPER LIQUOR MOBILE PACE
AMALFI - lay inwards rounding the final bend.
HOPE FOR LOVE - when questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised she was unable to make ground due to the strong tempo throughout and was not disappointed with the effort.
ONE EYE BANDIT - late scratching at 7.51am on Veterinary advice.
Race 2   NELSON OTB HANDICAP TROT
LUCA - trotted roughly at various stages throughout. Broke leaving the final bend losing all chance with the overcheck bit coming adrift. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
NATIVES BLAZIN SON - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
ZHUTEE - trotted roughly in the run home. Stewards questioned driver A Tomlinson regarding the manner she drove in the run home. Mrs Tomlinson advised that she does not carry a whip on this runner and after urging the horse with the reins early in the run home it had trotted roughly and she had been reluctant to place the horse under any significant pressure due to the mare breaking on previous occasions in similar circumstances. Stewards noted her comments.
ONNAHILL - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
HARMONIA - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages.
RIDGE - hung outwards leaving the final bend and in the run home and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver B Orange.
Race 3   BROWN & ASSOCIATES PACE
ROCKABILLY REIGN - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
WILLOW VALLEY - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages losing ground. Weakened from the 600m.
HAWK TOUIE LOUIE - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
NOW WATCH ME - hung inwards leaving the final bend and in the run home.
SUMMER ROSE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
ART'S MISCHIEF - weakened in the run home.
BELLA CIAO - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages losing ground.
Race 4   MIKE DEFILIPPI MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
TOP OF THE HILL - weakened from the 600m.
BRIAN BEATT - driver S Tomlinson reported the gelding had hung inwards rounding the final bend and in the run home.
HOOF IT HAGRID - broke at the start losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
KNOWING ME - broke near the 1100m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
LOVEYOU TO DA SKYE - hampered and broke near the 1100m losing all chance.
Race 5   ANCHOR RESTAURANT MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when SHARDS LYRIC broke in the score up checking an inside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver S O'Reilly elected to remain in her allocated barrier position for the restart. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
BUSTERS BABE - broke in the score up of the restart losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
SHARDS LYRIC - lay inwards and paced roughly early in the run home.
SHEWONMEOVER - locked wheels briefly with DANCING N HEAVEN leaving the final bend.
AMERICAN TOS - paced roughly rounding the first bend. Lay inwards and again paced roughly in the run home.
DANCING N HEAVEN - locked wheels briefly with SHEWONMEOVER leaving the final bend.
UNICO TESSA - held up for clear racing room early in the run home and again over the concluding stages.
KILLYBEGS - weakened from the 900m. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
HONOUR BRIGHT NOTE - broke in the score up of the restart and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened from the 700m.
IFYOUCOULDCWHATIC - broke in the score up of the restart losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 700m.
Race 6   STAR HOTEL / R & J BATTERIES MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed two minutes due to remedial work being required on a section of the track near the winning post after the water cart had stopped leaving a pool of water on the track.
ALWAYS BEE GEE - crowded shortly after the start.
CARRERA KAHU - crowded by an outside runner shortly after the start and paced roughly. Continued to pace roughly in the early stages.
BEAUDIENE ALWAYS B - driver G Smith was issued a warning for the manner he drove shortly after the start when crowding inside runners.
EDICT - held up early in the run home.
RAKERO JOHN - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
Race 7   TAYLORS CONTRACTING PACE
A false start was declared due to SEASIDE POND not having sufficient room just prior to the start resulting in the gelding locking wheels with CARLIN.
There was a further delay to the start when CARLIN required a change of sulky.
SARGENT HENRY - raced wide early.
UKRAINE - raced wide early.
STYLISH LUSTRE - fractious prior to the restart.
LOGAN ROCK - broke at the start losing all chance.
Race 8   MIKE AUSTIN MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared when the front line barrier strand failed to clear all runners.
SON E - broke at the start hampering trailing runners losing ground. Broke again near the 200m losing all chance.
LOVE WALKED IN - weakened leaving the final bend.
MAVIS JONES - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start and broke losing all chance.
BROTHER LOVE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start and broke losing all chance.
Race 9   TASMAN EMPRESS SPRINT SERIES HEAT 2 (MOBILE PACE)
CANDY CANE - checked and broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
MAJOR PERFORMER - held up early in the run home. A hopple side carrier came adrift during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be sufficiently taped with trainer T Yesberg deemed not to be at fault.
MISTY BLUE - hung inwards and broke racing into the first bend checking trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
ALWAYS B MAGIC - late scratching on 10 January at 10.01pm on Veterinary advice.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAM - raced wide early. Checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend losing ground.
Race 10   NELSON PINE INDUSTRIES NELSON CLASSIC (MOBILE PACE)
SHEPHERDS DELIGHT - weakened from the 650m hampering a trailing runner.
COCKTAILS AND CAVIAR - weakened early in the run home.
DYNASTY - hampered by a weakening runner near the 650m.
WHO'S DELIGHT - checked and broke near the 600m when racing between DYNASTY and VESSEM losing all chance. Stewards questioned drivers B Butt (DYNASTY), J Dunn (WHO'S DELIGHT) assisted by Senior driver J Dunn and O Thornley (VESSEM) regarding this incident. After viewing the replays and considering their explanations, Stewards were unable to apportion blame onto any one horse or driver and took the matter no further.
HADRON COLLIDER - raced wide early.
HARRISON JOHN - raced wide early.
VESSEM - raced wide early.
PINSEEKER - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early.
Race 11   NBS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when the number on QUEEN OF SWORDS detached in the score up with trainer A Fitzgerald deemed not to be at fault.

MIKI'S COURAGE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
