Race 1   KAPITI HARNESS RACING 15 JANUARY HCP TROT
TIKI - broke near the 1800m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
KINK - lay in contacting track markers on various occasions during the running, in particular rounding the final turn despite the efforts of Driver M Hay. Mr Hay advised he had not activated the removable deafeners as a consequence and would be recommending gear changes.
KOKO KABOOM - pre-race warmed. Trainer M House was issued with a warning for presenting the gelding with the incorrect saddlecloth.
Race 2   CONGRATS WILSON HOUSE LEADING JNR DRIVER MOB PACE
MILLION DOLLAR CHIC - sulky wheel contacted when laying out passing the 200m simultaneously to DREAM ON LOU laying in.
DREAM ON LOU - lay in passing the 200m and contacted the sulky wheel of MILLION DOLLAR CHIC which lay out simultaneously, pacing roughly as a result. After viewing replays Stewards could not apportion blame to either horse or Driver and took the matter no further other than to note the circumstances.
EDDIE OSEI - over-raced passing the 1350m and was taken three wide briefly before being restrained back to the running line.
Race 3   JOIN THE TURBOS SYNDICATE MOBILE PACE
BET ON POLLY - Driver S Doody was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
BIG GEE - lay out early in the run home despite the efforts of Driver W House hampering an outside runner.
GET SET PARTY - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
MAJOR NIGHTMARE - broke at the start as a result of the near fore hopple loop breaking hampering an outside runner and lost all chance. The gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition with Trainer B Towers deemed not be at fault.
VISCOUNT BANNER - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Raced wide without cover from the 1400m. Weakened rounding the final turn.
CANDY GIRL - back from position at the start. Driver E Phelan was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. Hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start and broke in consequence losing all chance.
EASTWOOD ADMIRAL - slow early then lost contact with the body of the field from the 1500m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have some swelling in the left nostril. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
RHAEGAL - hampered by BIG GEE early in the run home. When questioned Driver H Orange confirmed his chances of finishing ahead of BIG GEE had not been affected.
INDISPOSED - over-raced early and middle stages.
THE ENIGMA - weakened in the run home.
Race 4   MANAWATU HARNESS 10 & 12 FEBRUARY MOBILE PACE
MELTON MOGUL - over-raced through the middle stages.
THE BIG BANG - required the assistance of the Clerk of the Course prior to the score up. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
CAPTAIN KOBE - raced wide without cover from the 1100m.
JETASI - unable to hold the back of RUN MASON RUN near the 1350m enabling THE BIG BANG to shift down into a one out and one back position. Raced four wide without cover from the 750m. Stumbled and paced roughly approaching the 200m after contacting the sulky wheel of SHEZABETTORGIRL when both runners shifted ground. After viewing replays Stewards could not apportion blame to either horse or Driver and took the matter no further other than to note the circumstances.
SHEZABETTORGIRL - sulky wheel contacted when laying out approaching the 200m simultaneously to JETASI laying in.
Race 5   HAPPY NEW YEAR MOBILE PACE PACE
TRES BONNE FILLE - moved forward to race outside the leader approaching the 1600m, weakened rounding the final turn. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SILENT THEORY - weakened leaving the final turn. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance Driver W House was of the opinion the mare may have been feeling the effects of recent racing and travelling and would be returning to Canterbury for a brief freshen up.
BELL FIRE - pulled hard score up and in the early stages when being restrained.
CATHY FREEMAN - paced roughly late in the score up and was back from position at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
