SIDOROVA - raced in restricted room briefly near the 1800m.
NORMIE STEAD - held up early in the run home. Broke briefly near the 120m losing ground.
ACENTO - lay inwards near the 1800m placing an inside runner in restricted room having to be steadied. Raced wide early. Locked wheels momentarily with SHADOW CREEK which lay inwards near the 300m.
SHADOW CREEK - raced wide from the 1300m. Lay inwards near the 300m and locked wheels with ACENTO momentarily.
THE HIGHLANDER - held up early in the run home and again over the concluding stages.
ARCHIE - raced wide with cover from the 1000m.
COURAGE REACTOR - held up early stages of the run home.
Race 2   ONE YEAR TODAY - REMEMBERING DENISE NYHAN TROT
A false start was declared due to HONEST WAL being fractious and swinging sideways hampering outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Sent to the unruly position by the Starter for the restart where the gelding will remain for future standing starts.
ALI SON - trainer J Morrison was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race with fixed deafeners and half hopples which had not been notified. Broke at the start losing all chance.
BACARDI DOLL - driver R Holmes advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
HEZA COOL DUDE - broke when racing over the crossing near the 1750m losing ground.
NATIVES BLAZIN SON - broke after 200m losing all chance.
LAP IT UP - broke after 100m losing ground. Hung inwards and trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out and broke upon reaching the winning post. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
SENIOR CONSTABLE LIZ - driver K Hadfield advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
HOOFN IT - weakened final bend. Trotted roughly near the 150m.
TOMMY - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1300m when TOMMY shifted ground outwards when HEZA COOL DUDE was racing to its outside. After reviewing the films, Stewards were satisfied the field was racing loosely and HEZA COOL DUDE had not been forced wider on the track.
B K MUMMA JAMIE - trainer P Wakelin advised the mare would be racing in season.
Race 3   DAKINS GROUP MOBILE PACE
BALTIC STAR - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Raced wide from the 1550m.
ENOKA - broke a hopple connecting strap after 50m resulting in the gelding breaking for a distance hampering a trailing runner and was retired from the race near the 1100m. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
EASY ART - lay inwards having to be steadied over the concluding stages.
MIDNIGHT SOPHIA - paced roughly after 200m when racing wide on the track.
ITZ ALL OVER ROVER - raced wide early.
BRITE LEDGER - raced wide early.
ICY STARS - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.

PRINCE RANIER - driver G Telfer reported a sulky tyre deflated in the run home.

GO HOME DENISE - trotted roughly and hung outwards over the early stages losing ground. Lay outwards over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no tangible explanation.

SWITCH ON - held up early in the run home. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
Race 6   MICHAEL (MICKY) WARD MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
REAL VELOCITY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Orange. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Raced wide early. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Orange advised the filly had raced lethargically. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of muscle tie up.
IMPRESSIVE SHARD - raced wide early.
FESTUS HAGGEN - improved wide final bend.
FRANCO HUMBIE - raced wide from the 1500m. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
JAZZYS UPSTART - improved four wide near the 600m.
PENNY WEIGHT - driver C Thornley advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking.
GOTTA LATHER UP - raced wide early.
Race 7   THE FAMOUS GROUSE HOTEL (JUNIOR DRIVERS) PACE
The start was delayed due to a number of runners being fractious with the field being turned out of line to readdress the barriers.
TOPAZ - broke at the start and shifted outwards hampering a trailing runner losing ground.
THE COALMAN - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
HANOI FRANCO - fractious prior to the restart causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Stood on the mark and was slow to begin losing ground. Raced lethargically through the middle stages. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
TO RI RUBY - broke at the start losing ground.
MAJOR HIPSTER - broke at the start losing ground.
ANYTIME AT ALL - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
WAIKAKA - hampered shortly after the start. Paced roughly early in the run home. Broke briefly near the 200m when driver G Thornley activated the removable deafeners.
Race 8   CRATE & BARREL TROT
RAKERO ACE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 550m. Broke near the 400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
PETITE TRIXTON - trotted roughly over the concluding stages and broke shortly after the finish line.
TETRICK(AUS) - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
MODE - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened in the run home. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the replays and spoken to driver W House who confirmed he had not been denied a fair start.
GINAS MAJESTY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 550m and again near the 450m. Trotted roughly throughout the run home.

Race 9   THE COMMODORE HOTEL 2YO MOBILE PACE
OLYMPIAN - broke as the start was effected hampering a trailing runner and then shifted outwards making contact with the sulky of REIMBURST resulting in driver R Close being unbalanced and sustaining a punctured sulky tyre with both runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration on the right front leg which was treated. Connections advised consideration would be given to sending the horse for a spell.
REIMBURST - sulky wheel contacted by OLYMPIAN shortly after the start and retired from the race near the 1600m with a punctured sulky tyre.
FRANCO ANKARA - broke near the 1600m losing ground. Driver C Dalgety advised the gelding had struck a knee causing it to break.
BUACHAILL DANA - weakened in the run home.
NIKOLAI RAY - held up final bend.
SHANKY'S SHOT - trainer T Trathen was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available. Hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
Race 10   PAUL RENWICK JOINERY MOTUKARARA CHRISTMAS CUP (HCP PACE)
COMMANDER BEN - tangled away. Held up late in the run home.
COMMANDER JOE - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
NEXT LEVEL - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
INSARCHATWIST - held up late in the run home.
AUDACITY - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
STILL ROCKIN - fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 1400m.
I'M ROCKIN - held up early in the run home.
DANCE TILL DAWN - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
KISS THE GIRLS - broke at the start hampering trailing runners losing ground. Authorisation of placings was withheld after driver K Butt wished to view replays of the start to ascertain whether she had been denied a fair start after the 10m handheld barrier was marginally delayed in releasing. Stewards spoke with drivers J Dunn (DANCE TILL DAWN), B Butt (FOLLOW YOUR DREAM) and J Morrison (TANZANIA) who confirmed their chances had not been affected. A request for a ruling was lodged with the Adjudicative Committee to determine whether KISS THE GIRLS had been denied a fair start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties, KISS THE GIRLS was declared to be a runner.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAM - broke at the start losing ground.
COCKTAILS AND CAVIAR - broke rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
BUILT FOR GLORY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
MIKI BENNETT - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Again hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
Race 11   LIQUORLAND PREBBLETON MOBILE PACE
LONNEKERS - broke near the 300m when attempting to utilise the passing lane losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
KOWHAI STAR - raced wide early.
PATIRO - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SOFIA ROSE - over-raced middle stages.
STEPHS BOY - raced wide early.
LILAC LUXURY - refused to score up with the field losing considerable ground. Declared a non-runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. Driver R Close advised he would be recommending gear changes. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming.
Race 12   WENDY FLETCHER & GARRY BREE TROT
A false start was declared after the barrier strand became entangled in the legs of BARRYTOWN after the gelding was fractious prior to the barrier being released. A warning was placed on the barrier record of BARRYTOWN.
TRIBBIANI - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
ROYAL ROCK - sustained a punctured sulky tyre when contacted by ROCK LOBSTER near the 400m. When questioned regarding the performance, driver J Morrison advised that despite having a punctured sulky tyre he was disappointed with the effort. He added that working hard early had also taken its toll
SODS LAW - broke briefly at the start. Weakened from the 600m.
ROYAL YANKEE - weakened from the 600m.
SILVERLININGS - hung inwards and broke rounding the final bend losing all chance. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
ROCK LOBSTER - over-raced and hung outwards contacting the sulky wheel of ROYAL ROCK near the 400m breaking briefly, hampering a trailing runner. Again broke near the 250m losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Stewards lodged a protest against 2nd placing being awarded under Rule 870(4)(d) in that the mare failed to lose ground when in a break near the 400m. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver J Dunn, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest.
KAIRAKI SPUR - held up early in the run home.
Race 13   BODYGUARD HEALTH MOBILE PACE
OCEAN OF TEARS - lay inwards and struck track markers rounding the first bend losing ground.
JOSE QUIVERA - held up early in the run home.
SHANNON B - held up early in the run home.
CLASSIE LINC - raced wide early.
PIONEER - raced wide early. Held up early in the run home.
TAKE THE MIKI - out of position at the start. Driver L O'Reilly will be spoken to in the coming days. Raced wide from the 900m.
BIGGLES - late scratching at 7.55am due to transport difficulties.
COBA CHARGED - broke near the 1600m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Driver S Thornley advised that the gelding's bit had shifted causing him difficulty.
DAWN TO DARK - hampered near the 1600m.
