Connections advised Stewards on 27 December that blood tests taken from FOLLOW YOUR DREAM revealed no abnormalities and that the mare has been freshened and worked well in preparation for a resumption at Motukarara on Monday.

Race 1   APPARELMASTER MOBILE PACE
FLO MOTION - lay inwards racing into the first bend striking a track marker. Held up final bend.
AR GEE RULZ - crowded near the 300m having to be steadied. Weakened early in the run home.
FLYAWAY - over-raced middle stages. When questioned regarding the improved performance driver S O'Reilly advised the mare may not have handled the track conditions on the first day and had received a more economical trip today.
THE BEACH HOUSE - raced wide from the 800m.
PLAYING WITH STARS - shifted outwards near the 300m crowding an outside runner which had to be restrained. Driver T Borcoskie was shown a replay and warned for the manner in which he drove at this stage.
CHAL VEE POWER - over-raced middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the gelding had been hanging throughout causing her difficulty and she had been unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled. Miss Ottley was issued a warning for the manner she drove near the 200m when attempting to correct her hanging runner.
Race 2   WATTYL/FULLER HANDTOOLS HANDICAP TROT
MONARO DEAN - broke at the start hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer M Heenan.
WHICH WAY - tangled away. Crowded near the 100m when runners on either side shifted ground marginally.
RONDO TROUBLE - lay outwards in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out over the concluding stages.
HIGHLY RATED - lay inwards throughout the run home.
SIGNAL HILL - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Lay inwards throughout the run home having to be corrected by driver S Ottley.
LINDY'S ROCKET - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Weakened from the 500m.
BIG AL - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
Race 3   DONALDSON FARM MOBILE PACE
WILLOW VALLEY - struck track markers racing into the first bend. Driver R Harrison was issued a warning.
HONOUR BRIGHT NOTE - weakened final bend. Broke near the 100m when trailing the field. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
MISS WOODVILLE - hung outwards in the run home and paced roughly approaching the 50m.
JACK'S EYRE - raced wide early. Held up final bend.
IFYOUCOULDCWHATIC - paced roughly in the early stages. Lay inwards when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner near the 750m and broke losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Following this race the track was upgraded to Dead.
Race 4   GRAEME & JOAN McMASTER PACE
A false start was declared when THE TOWN OF LIGHT shifted outwards just prior to the start locking wheels with an outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver S Clarke elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
SARGENT HENRY - required assistance from a Starting Attendant prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
CAPTAIN PUBLISHER - held up final bend.
WHATSUPMAN - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
THE TOWN OF LIGHT - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
BELLA CIAO - held up early in the run home.
ULTIMATUM - driver B Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
ART'S MISCHIEF - driver W House was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for speaking to another driver in the preliminary.
BUSTERS BABE - slow to begin. Weakened rounding the final bend. Driver S O'Reilly advised she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
ADELPHI STORM - paced roughly in the run home.
Race 5   PAT SCANLON MEMORIAL SPONSORED BY MARTINS MITRE 10 MOB PACE
TREASURE COVE - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
DO YOU WANNA DANCE - weakened leaving the final bend.
QUEEN OF SWORDS - late scratching at 10.07am on Veterinary advice.
HI HOPES - over-raced middle stages.
EVANGALIST - held up final bend and early in the run home.
Race 6   BERNIE STEWART MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared when the stand holding the 10 metre barrier strand fell to the track just prior to the start being effected hampering runners on the 10 metre mark.
SOLEMN SON - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Weakened final bend.
CALL DUDLEY - broke rounding the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
ONNAHILL - broke after 100m losing all chance.
SOMETHING ELSE - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly through the middle stages. Weakened final bend.
TOP OF THE HILL - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
KISS ME KATE - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Over-raced middle stages.
SON E - trotted roughly passing the 450m losing ground. Again trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver S Thornley.
JACCKA BAYLIS - held up early in the run home.
JASPRIT TROUBLE - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
ILLEGAL ALIEN - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
Race 7   WESTPORT WATER SERVICES HANDICAP PACE
BLACKJACK - broke at the start losing ground.
VERMEER LUSTRE - weakened leaving the final bend.
COMIC LUSTRE - weakened from the 800m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
ROCKCENT - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MY SKATJIE - held up by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
CULLENS BEACH - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend.
GOODOLDAYZ - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
MY WINGMAN - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up rounding the final bend. Weakened early in the run home.
RAPID RESPONSE - weakened from the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised having to race three wide in the middle stages to improve its position may have taken its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
POLLY GREY - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the filly was racing up in grade and may not have backed up from its first day run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections advised the filly will be freshened prior to resuming.
ELEKTRA KING - raced wide early.
Race 8   PAT McMANUS MEMORIAL RCK HANDICAP PACE
STYLE COUNCIL - required assistance from a Starting Attendant prior to the start. Began awkwardly hampering a trailing runner. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Broke near the 1100m hampering an outside runner losing ground.
TERRORMYLOVE - held up final bend and again until late in the run home.
FLYING BIRD - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the mare was racing up in grade and may not have been suited to racing parked.
ROCK BAND - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke briefly racing into the first bend. Again broke briefly leaving the final bend hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SMOKE ON THE WATER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100m. Driver R Close advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 9   TOTAL GAS CARE DURBAN CHIEF WESTPORT TROTTERS CUP (HCP TROT)
The start was delayed due to WILMA'S BOY backing away hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BULLIT TRAIN - broke briefly at the start. Trotted roughly in the run home.
KNOWING ME - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke again after 150m losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of connections.
TU TANGATA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 150m.
RACHMANINOV - lay inwards near the 2700m striking track markers. Driver R Close advised he had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
WILMA'S BOY - trotted roughly in the run home.
ONE EL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 150m.
HELLOVEAMOMENT - broke near the 150m hampering trailing runners losing its chance. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 10   COSMOPOLITAN HOTEL MOBILE PACE
SAMVASA - raced wide early.
SHE'S A MAJOR ACT - paced roughly shortly after the start. Raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Borcoskie advised the mare failed to handle the track conditions today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
WUHAN - raced wide early. Hampered near the 350m when being forced wider on the track by an inside runner.
THE MANDALORIAN - raced wide early.
TROUBLESHOOTER - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards near the 1100m striking track markers. Broke near the 350m when attempting to shift WUHAN wider on the track losing all chance. Stewards questioned drivers S O'Reilly (TROUBLESHOOTER) and K Cameron (WUHAN) regarding this incident where it was established Miss O'Reilly's runner had been over-racing and causing her difficulty. After considering their explanations and viewing the replays, Stewards placed a warning on the racing record of TROUBLESHOOTER.
