Driver R Close became unbalanced in the sulky in the run home when attempting to activate the removable gear. Mr Close advised the cord had broken which caused him considerable difficulty. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
MISS WOODVILLE - raced wide early. Checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend having to take evasive action losing ground. Paced roughly racing over the crossing near the 900m losing ground. Raced wide from the 800m.
HONOUR BRIGHT NOTE - hampered by a weakening runner for a distance passing the 800m. Weakened rounding the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
KAITUNA LOU - broke early in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Weakened from the 800m hampering a trailing runner and was retired from the race. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the filly had raced greenly at various stages and he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly.

When questioned regarding the performance driver K Cameron advised the filly had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
TREASURE COVE - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1100m. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MATAI HARRY - crowded by outside runners racing into the first bend. Lay inwards near the 1100m having to be corrected by driver W House.
FLYING BIRD - driver S Ottley advised she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
DESTINY DANCE - crowded by SARASOTA SUNSET when racing wide in the early stages with the gelding contacting the sulky wheel of that runner. Weakened from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
SARASOTA SUNSET - lay inwards racing into the first bend when wide on the track crowding inside runners. Weakened final bend.
QUEEN OF SWORDS - weakened from the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Sent to the unruly position by the Starter for the restart where the gelding will remain for future standing starts.
JACK'S EYRE - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered rounding the first bend losing further ground. Held up final bend and early in the run home. Driver B Hope advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
BELLA CIAO - held up final bend.
THE TOWN OF LIGHT - driver S Clarke was issued a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion rounding the final bend.
ULTIMATUM - driver B Butt was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
CAPTAIN PUBLISHER - broke at the start losing ground.
WHATSUPMAN - raced greenly and shifted outwards abruptly near the 1100m. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised he was disappointed however expected the gelding which was having its first start would derive benefit from the race.
ART'S MISCHIEF - weakened from the 900m. When questioned regarding the performance driver W House advised he had lost considerable ground in the early and middle stages when held up behind FLOOZY SUZY which had been pacing roughly and had been unable to improve to reach the main body of the field.
INTERRORGATOR - hung inwards near the 450m when driver J Dunn attempted to shift the gelding wider on the track to obtain clear racing room resulting in the gelding being held up by a weakening runner.
FLOOZY SUZY - paced roughly at various stages losing ground and was retired from the race. Driver R Harrison reported the mare may not have handled the prevailing track conditions today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
WILLOW VALLEY - weakened from the 800m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.

A false start was declared when the 10 metre handheld barrier strand was slow to be released resulting in several runners being hampered. Starter's Assistant S Donnelly was spoken to advisedly to ensure the barrier is released in a more timely manner in future.
STYLE COUNCIL - fractious prior to the re-start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DELIGHTFUL DREAMS - began awkwardly.
EVANGALIST - reared and stood on the mark at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
HOMEBUSH LAD - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
SEMBA - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the gelding had raced keenly and may have been unsuited to the prevailing track conditions combined with the extra distance of today's race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
