Race 1   HIRE A VENUE AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY MOBILE PACE
LOVEABLE ROGUE - held up early final turn. Sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1000m.
KALIOPI - shifted wider by an inside runner near the 950m. Weakened from near the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the mare's racing performance.
OCEAN BELLE - late scratching at 10.20am on veterinary advice.
RUTHERFORD - raced wide early. Commenced to weaken rounding the final turn hampering trailing runners.
JUST JAMES - Trainer P Miller was issued a warning for the late notification that the gelding would be racing with blinds.
ABMAN - contacted and punctured the sulky tyre of LOVEABLE ROGUE passing the 1000m when shifting away from the marker line. Driver B Butcher admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butcher's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 4 January 2026 (3 days). Mr Butcher was also issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
TUAREG - held up final turn and until near the 50m.
RASMUSSIN EFFECT - required the assistance of an attendant prior to the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
CUPIDS ARROW - paced roughly early in the run home.
Race 2   BATTLE OF THE BREEDS ON 9TH JANUARY TROT
MASS DISRUPTION - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
JOE KENNEDY - broke at the start losing all chance.
ROYAL PETITE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
WHATZ THE LUCK - fractious before the start. Slow early losing considerable ground. Lay in rounding the first turn and raced over track markers. Continued to lay in rounding the turns when trailing the field.
BRASS RAZOO - lay out racing down the back straight the final time.
KC'S PRINCESS - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground and trailed the field throughout.
Race 3   O'CONNOR WARREN INSURANCE FILLIES & MARES MOB PACE
AMARETTO DELIGHT - hampered rounding the final turn.
SHEZABETTORGIRL - Driver W House was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
MURTLE THE TURTLE - lay in approaching the 800m and then again rounding the final turn losing ground hampering a trailing runner.
SPIRITUAL BLISS - over-raced middle stages when leading.
DIXIELAND DELIGHT - Trainer S Dickson was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available.
Race 4   GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND 2YO C&G MOBILE PACE
B ENVIOUS - hampered near the 1100m.
CRIPPA MAX - raced greenly near the 1100m when leading causing some disruption to trailing runners with the most affected being B ENVIOUS and LINCOLN LOVER.
LIFE LESS ORDINARY - Driver T Mitchell was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
LINCOLN LOVER - hampered near the 1100m.
I'M TRUE ENOUGH - Trainer T Hopkins was issued a warning for the late driver notification of C Dalgety.
Race 5   GAVELHOUSE.COM TROT
HELSINGOR - weakened leaving the final turn.
PLAY FAST AND LOOSE - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
GRACE N ELEGANCE - began awkwardly. Shifted out approaching the 200m hampering a trailing runner. Junior Driver H Moralde Sands, assisted by T Mitchell, was shown the replays and warned for her lack of control in this incident when activating the removable deafeners.
TRIFOLIUM - broke at the start losing ground. Driver T Mitchell advised that the removable deafeners failed to activate despite his efforts.
PATRICIA RUBY - when questioned regarding the performance Co-Trainer/Driver M Wallis stated that the filly was up in grade in today's event and failed to handle the rise in class.
BROTHER JOHNSON - lay in at various stages.
ALEX PEREIRA - broke at the start losing all chance.
SO MYSTIFYING - pre-race warmed. Slow early. Had difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
Race 6   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS 2YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
MERLE MARY - paced roughly entering the first turn.
LINCOLN DOWNS - over-raced briefly and had to be steadied passing the 1100m.
IT'S NOT KATHY - over-raced middle stages. Checked by an outside runner passing the 100m and paced roughly before breaking near the 60m finishing in 4th place. Promoted to 3rd place following the protest hearing. Stewards exercised their discretion under the Breaking Horses Regulation in relation to this runner's promoted 3rd placing given that the filly broke as a result of interference.
AROSE - Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 869A(2) against this runner's 2nd placing alleging interference near the 100m when the filly lay in despite the efforts of Driver P Ferguson and contacted the off hind of IT'S NOT KATHY (T Cameron) which paced roughly then broke near the 60m. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee upheld the protest and AROSE was relegated to 4th placing. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
Race 7   KENNY & JO BAYNES SUPPORTING ZEV & NEITA MOB PACE
WALTZING WITH MIKI - raced wide early and middle stages.
SHAKE A LEG - when questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer S McMullan stated that the gelding had performed satisfactorily at its previous start with the fast sectionals recorded and had enjoyed an economical run throughout in today's event.
MUCHACHO - raced wide early. Lay out rounding the final turn and throughout the run home.
BARBAROSSA - had to shift ground outwards to obtain clear running in the home straight.
CAULFIELD - had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
UPSTAGE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dunn stated he was satisfied with the effort after the gelding had raced three wide with cover from the 800m.
Race 8   CAMBRIDGE TROTTERS CHRISTMAS CUP HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared at the first attempt when the 25m barrier failed to clear ROMEO FOXTROT.
KOKO KABOOM - pre-race warmed. Slow to begin. Broke approaching the 600m after competing for the position on the back of PANTANI after having been shifted four wide by that runner and lost ground.
SON OF PATRICK - stood on the mark when the barriers were released and then broke shortly after losing all chance.
VORONOV - unsuccessfully contested for the lead middle stages. Weakened rounding the final turn hampering an outside runner. Driver L Chin admitted a charge under Rule 868(2) in that failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures during the middle stages to ensure his gelding was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible position and/or finishing place by persisting with a challenge for the lead which resulted in this runner weakening rounding the final turn to finish in 11th place. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Dr Chin's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 26 January 2026 (5 days).
TINKERBELLE - commenced to weaken near the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Mitchell stated that the mare had raced keenly when challenged during the middle stages and this had taken its toll with the event being a rise in grade from the fields that it had raced in recently.
PANTANI - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly passing the 200m.
JASINOVA - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final turn.
Race 9   CAMBRIDGE PACERS CHRISTMAS CUP HANDICAP PACE
The start of this race was delayed approximately 4 minutes given the false start of the previous race resulting in Cambridge Greyhounds Race 3 running late.
CLAUDE - tangled away.
BETA PREPARE - broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide from the 1300m.
LEO LINCOLN - broke at the start losing ground.
ROUGH AND READY - broke at the start losing ground.
BLAZING LOUIE - tangled away. Raced wide with cover from the 1000m.
AKATEA - raced wide with cover from the 1050m.
Race 10   CAMBRIDGE RACING AT TAUPO 26TH JANUARY HANDICAP TROT
I'LL CALL YOU - broke at the start losing ground. Broke rounding the first turn losing further ground. Broke again near the 800m losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the left fore. A final warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
ORDAINED - broke at the start losing all chance.
MAKE THINGS HAPPEN - broke rounding the first turn losing considerable ground. Broke near the 700m losing its chance.
CONRAD H - broke briefly at the start.
HILL BILLIE BUNDY - broke shortly after the start when taking evasive action hampering an outside runner and lost all chance.
PAT YATES - hampered by an inside runner shortly after the start. Broke near the 1300m losing ground. A final warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
Race 11   NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS TICKETS ON SALE MOBILE PACE
AMAZING CAPTAIN - checked by a breaking runner near the 300m losing its chance.
TIGHT LINES - commenced to pace roughly passing the 800m hampering a trailing runner then broke shortly after and was retired from the event. This runner was immediately attended to by the Veterinarian and cleared to leave the track without the use of the Horse Ambulance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a suspected tendon injury to the near fore. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
KATIES PRINCESS - weakened leaving the final turn.
PROVISEUR - over-raced middle stages.
MELTON ENFORCER - hampered near the 800m. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer/Driver J Abernethy advised after being hampered near the 800m the gelding had raced lethargically.
MR MIKI - Trainer B Laidlaw was warned for the late notification that the gelding would be racing with fixed deafeners.
ABITIBI - paced roughly near the 800m. Broke near the 300m checking an outside runner losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 12   MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY MOB PACE
I CAN TOO - held up rounding the final turn.
MILLION DOLLAR CHIC - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the parked position near the 1150m. When questioned Driver W House confirmed that racing wide for the first lap had taken its toll.
TUGAWAR - weakened leaving the final turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
BILLY THE KID - raced four wide with cover from the 600m.
DREAM ON LOU - raced four wide without cover from the 600m.
DOMINUS - raced wide early.
