KAIRAKI VEGAS - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home.
A BETTORS LEGACY - broke at the start hampering an outside runner.
WEST VIRGINIA - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Hung inwards and shifted outwards early in the run home having to be corrected by driver B Orange, hampering outside runners.
CLAP FOR THE WOLFMAN - broke at the start losing ground.
RESURGAMUS - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered early in the run home when an inside runner shifted outwards. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation at the start.
COSMIC STAR - hampered early in the run home when an inside runner shifted outwards. Driver M Hurrell was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
TAIKA - fractious prior to the start and was back from the Unruly position as the start was effected then broke briefly losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
Race 2   LJ HOOKER / WAITAKI REFRIGERATION / CATALYST MOBILE PACE
MIGHTY FLYING MIKI - paced roughly rounding the final bend. Lay inwards over the concluding stages. When asked to comment on the performance driver S Ottley advised the gelding had raced keenly throughout and paced roughly in the run home.
CARRERA VAMOS - paced roughly rounding the final bend and early in the run home.
FOX TERROR - over-raced early. Hung outwards just prior to the finish line having to be corrected by driver B Orange.
ART JORDAN - raced wide early.
Following the race Stewards spoke to Starter B Ward regarding the speed of mobile.
Race 3   LEVEL ELECTRICAL / BROSNANS / THE VICARAGE TROT
MAJOR FEAR - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke again near the 100m losing its chance.
HEZA COOL DUDE - trotted roughly and broke before attempting to buck rounding the final bend causing the crupper to break and was retired from the event by driver S Tomlinson. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
AMISTOZO - broke briefly shortly after the start losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
GEORGIA TROUBLE - broke near the 100m losing ground. Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 4th placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging GEORGIA TROUBLE had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. Driver M Heenan did not contest the protest and GEORGIA TROUBLE was disqualified by the Stewards.
Race 4   BUSINESS HIVE / OAMARU DOCTORS / AFFINITY CO MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when ULTIMATE PERFECTION broke in the score up checking a second line runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver S Tomlinson elected to shift to the Unruly for the restart where the gelding will remain for future mobile starts.
GIMMESOMELOVIN - held up early in the run home.
ULTIMATE PERFECTION - broke after 200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
FLYAWAY - over-raced middle stages.
THE MANDALORIAN - paced roughly leaving the final bend. Driver W House reported he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled. When questioned regarding the perceived improved performance Mr House advised that the gelding had appreciated a change in training environment and benefitted from an economical run today.
GOMA DALE - raced wide from the 900m.
FRANCO CHAPLIN - broke in the score up at the first attempt. Broke again in the score up at the second attempt losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 5   OAMARU JOCKEY CLUB MOBILE PACE
MIGHTY FLYING LOU - held up early in the run home. Hampered when an inside runner hung outwards late in the run home having to be steadied.
SALUTE - held up early in the run home.
HUGO - became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of MIGHTY FLYING LOU when being forced wider on the track near the 150m.
TAKE THE MIKI - raced wide early. Hung outwards late in the run home hampering an outside runner.
CRACKER OPIE - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the home straight. Paced roughly throughout the run home. Driver R Harrison reported she did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
DESTINY'S DREAM - raced wide early.
Race 6   ON A STREAK AT YABBY DAM FARMS HANDICAP TROT
GASHERBRUM - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of co-trainers N Edge and N Buchan.
SILVESTER - held up early in the run home.
CAPPAHA - held up early in the run home.
MIKKO KOIVU - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
JORDAN ANNE - driver C Williamson admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mrs Williamson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today 10 December up to and including 2 January 2026 (3 days).
NUBLIAH CHAMAY - connections advised the mare would be racing in foal.
PYRAMID ROSE - broke after 100m losing ground. Broke again near the 400m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
MAD JACK - broke near the 250m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - reared as the start was effected then stood on the mark before breaking losing all chance. Trainer D O'Connell reported he would be making gear changes.
FRANCO JOSIAH - raced wide early. When asked to comment on the perceived improved performance driver J Morrison advised the gelding had appreciated the drop in grade and a return to grass track racing.
Race 7   TOPFLITE / ANDY ANDERSON / WAITAKI ELECTRICAL TROT
OUR EVIE RAE - broke near the 500m losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
FEAR AND FAITH - broke after 100m losing ground. Shifted inwards rounding the first bend simultaneous to KOWHAI SUNBURST attempting to improve along the marker line resulting in KOWHAI SUNBURST striking several track markers. After questioning drivers S Ottley (KOWHAI SUNBURST) and J Morrison regarding this incident and viewing the films Stewards took the matter no further. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1150m.
SHEZA TRENDY ONE - late scratching at 9.03am on veterinary advice.
MOA MOJITO - broke at the start losing all chance.
MISS GRACIE - connections advised the mare has been treated for muscle tie-up since last racing. Broke after 100m losing ground before settling then broke again shortly after losing all chance.
SEE NO EVIL - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Authorisation of this runner's 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
GO HOME DENISE - trotted roughly in the run home.
LADY WHISTLEDOWN - lay inwards passing the 1650m striking a track marker. Broke near the 1150m hampering trailing runners losing all chance.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - struck several track markers entering the first bend. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1150m.

FRANCO SEB - held up by a weakening runner leaving the final bend.
