Race 1   WELCOME TO KEVIN FAHEY (AMATEUR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
WATERHOLES ROAD - paced roughly and struck the sulky wheel of LILY'S A STAR when placed in restricted room racing into the first bend. Held up final bend.
LILY'S A STAR - hampered by a weakening runner passing the 500m.
JUDGEMENT BAY - shifted inwards racing into the first bend. Weakened near the 500m hampering a trailing runner. Amateur driver D Roberts (assisted by M Williamson) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted inwards when insufficiently clear of LILY'S A STAR and WATERHOLES ROAD racing into the first bend resulting in WATERHOLES ROAD being checked. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Roberts' Amateur driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 3 January 2026 (1 month).
COURTNEY ROSE - briefly locked sulky stays with ONWARDSANDUPWARDS after 150m. Raced wide early.
GEM N EM - held up final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
ANN SOPHIE - raced wide from the 800m. Paced roughly when being forced wider on the track by an inside runner near the 600m. Weakened in the run home.
ONWARDSANDUPWARDS - briefly locked sulky stays with COURTNEY ROSE after 150m.
Race 2   EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES TROT
MAJESTIC TRIX - broke at the start hampering an outside runner losing ground. Cast a bell boot near the 1500m. Broke again near the 750m losing all chance.
HOOFN IT - driver S Trotter was issued a warning for driving with his foot removed from the sulky footrest rounding the final bend.
WHICH WAY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450m.
CALMBEFORETHESTORM - broke near the 1450m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again near the 550m losing all chance.
GLENFERRIE DASH - broke in the early stages losing ground. Held up early in the run home. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
PHANTOM SPUR - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Broke near the 300m losing ground. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 3   THANKS TO RICHARD BROMLEY & MICHELLE PARKER MOBILE PACE
TAIKA - weakened final bend.
ICY STARS - driver L O'Reilly reported the mare had hung inwards rounding the bends causing him difficulty.
SWEET N SASSY - lay inwards and struck track markers near the 1100m.
Race 4   AORAKI FRAME & TRUSS MOBILE PACE
RED WINE KISSES - hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Held up early in the run home.
ESSENCE OF EASTON - weakened from the 600m and was retired from the race before collapsing prior to entering the birdcage. Immediately attended to by the on course Veterinarian however was found to be deceased after haemorrhaging.
DIDJASHOUTTHEBAR - raced wide early. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
ROCK FERN - raced four wide from the 700m.
SWEET DREAMS - held up final bend and early in the run home.
HI LIFE - lay inwards final bend striking a track marker when held up for clear racing room.
THE HIGHLANDER - raced wide from the 700m.
Race 5   LONE PINE BUILDING TROT
FEAR AND FAITH - broke rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections and was treated for a minor wound on a knee.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer M Jones.
SOMETHING ELSE - began awkwardly. Hampered by a breaking runner final bend. Held up early in the run home. Driver P Nairn was issued a warning for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
DELLA'S FELLA - hung inwards and trotted roughly rounding the first bend striking track markers. Hampered by a breaking runner final bend.
ORIGIN - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend resulting in the mare over-racing and striking the sulky wheel of THERE YOU GO despite the efforts of driver J Curtin.
THERE YOU GO - broke near the 250m losing all chance. Driver J Smith reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre rounding the final bend.
Race 6   BROSNAN TRANSPORT PASSING LANE MOBILE PACE
BOYZONE - lay inwards late in the run home.
BURT - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt. Hung inwards and paced roughly near the 1000m. Again paced roughly passing the 900m losing ground. Hung inwards final bend and throughout the run home.
SCHEFFLER - weakened final bend.
SUSPICIOUS CAPTAIN - hung outwards rounding the first bend when being restrained to obtain cover. The boring pole came adrift near the 1500m. Lay inwards late in the run home. Co-trainers C & C Dalgety were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the boring pole so as not to come adrift.
Race 7   PLACEMAKERS TIMARU PACE
MEGYN KELLY - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the left foreleg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
SWIFT GUY - fractious prior to the start.
Race 8   TIMARU DENTAL CARE HANDICAP TROT
OUR EVIE RAE - tangled away. Hung inwards and trotted roughly final bend striking several track markers.
SILVESTER - slow to begin. Broke entering the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SWITCH ON - raced wide early. Broke near the 250m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - held up early in the run home. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 250m.
KAIRAKI SPUR - driver L O'Reilly was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
KINK - broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Trotted roughly near the 600m losing ground.
WATERLOO STATION - raced wide early. Lay inwards late in the run home striking a track marker.
WHATS WANTED - raced wide early. Held up early in the run home.
Race 9   LASER ELECTRICAL TIMARU MOBILE PACE
WOODLEA ROCKS - driver J Morrison reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre early in the run home.
IVONA DADIC - trainer W Stapleton was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds.
SOFIA ROSE - over-raced middle stages. Continued to over-race rounding the final bend and early in the run home causing driver O Thornley considerable difficulty with the mare striking the sulky wheel of WOODLEA ROCKS resulting in the tyre being punctured. A warning was placed on the racing record of SOFIA ROSE.
KUSAMA - raced wide early.
THE BEACH HOUSE - raced wide early.
FERNZ GOLDY - weakened in the run home.
