FRANCO HUMBIE - broke after 100m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Stewards lodged a protest against 10th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. Driver M Ranger did not contest the protest and FRANCO HUMBIE was disqualified by Stewards.
SHE'S A MAJOR ACT - weakened from the 600m hampering trailing runners. Driver S Thornley reported the mare may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery.
LILY'S A STAR - broke shortly after the start after contacting the sulky wheel of MELTON MAGNATE losing considerable ground. Stewards lodged a protest against 12th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. Driver M Holbrough did not contest the protest and LILY'S A STAR was disqualified by Stewards. Miss Holbrough (assisted by B Mowbray) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when shifting ground and allowing her runner to strike the sulky wheel of MELTON MAGNATE resulting in her runner breaking and losing all chance. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Holbrough's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 3 December up to and including 6 December 2025 (2 days).
Race 6   CLIFF DYNES MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
SHADOW CREEK - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1250m. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
HEAVEN FORBID - fractious prior to the start requiring assistance from a Starter's Attendant. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THE MANDALORIAN - driver B Weaver was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.

Race 7   INGOLD BUILDING LTD NZ JUNIOR DRIVER CHAMPS (HEAT 6) PACE
The start was delayed due to TEN DA TOUCH rearing and getting the sulky shaft over its hindquarters. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TEN DA TOUCH - held up early in the run home.
JOSE QUIVERA - over-raced early and middle stages. Struck a track marker rounding the final bend. Driver E Johnson was issued a warning.
BUCKSKIN - lay inwards rounding the first bend striking track markers with the trailing THE COALMAN also striking track markers.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - paced roughly and broke near the 700m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. Authorisation of 12th placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the replays and were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the running.
JAY R TOLKIEN - raced wide early. Weakened early in the run home. A bandage came adrift during the running and became caught in the sulky wheel over the concluding stages. Trainer M Howard was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix this gear so as not to come adrift.
STEALERS WHEEL - began awkwardly. Held up early in the run home.
Race 8   OSCAR BONAVENA STANDING AT STUD HANDICAP TROT
A REASON TO FIGHT - held up early in the run home. Broke near the 150m losing all chance.
BRIANNA - over-raced racing into the first bend when being restrained to obtain cover.
ALDEBARAN REDWOOD - broke at the start losing all chance.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again after 150m losing all chance and was retired from the race.
ROYAL ROCK - trotted roughly racing into the first bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver J Morrison advised he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery with mild lameness in the right hind leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
BRIAN BEATT - held up early in the run home.
SEE NO EVIL - broke at the start losing all chance.
AMENDMENT - broke early in the run home losing all chance.

MISTY BLUE - placed in restricted room racing into the first bend when crowded by an outside runner resulting in the mare striking and racing inside several track markers.
BLUE ROCK DANCER - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room early in the run home.
SHE'S TOUGH - shifted inwards racing into the first bend placing an inside runner in restricted room which raced over track markers. Junior driver R Harrison (assisted by J Dunn) admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(c) and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
ESMERALDA - shifted inwards racing into the first bend placing inside runners in restricted room resulting in MISTY BLUE racing over track markers. Driver G O'Reilly admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(c) and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
THE BIG LEBOWSKI - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
BUILT FOR GLORY - raced wide from the 700m.
