Race 1   MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS LP HANDICAP TROT
MAD JACK - trotted roughly final bend when held up for clear racing room. Again held up early in the run home and continued to trot roughly. Driver P Nairn advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
SUNNY LOUIS - held up early in the run home.
ROYAL DEL - broke at the start losing ground.
NELLIE DOYLE - lay outwards through the back straight on the first occasion.
Race 2   AOTEA ELECTRIC MOBILE PACE
RAKERO JOHN - weakened leaving the final bend.
NIKOLAI RAY - hampered rounding the final bend.
B J HUNNICUTT - broke briefly near the 800m when being forced wider on the track by NIKOLAI RAY losing ground. Stewards questioned drivers C Thornley (B J HUNNICUTT) and S Thornley (NIKOLAI RAY) regarding this incident and after hearing from both parties, it was established that both runners had been racing on even terms and jostled for a short distance with neither driver found to be at fault.
TEE BALL - raced greenly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay inwards and paced roughly final bend hampering a trailing runner losing ground,
Race 3   VIP FRAMES & TRUSSES MOBILE TROT
KD CORONA - lay outwards late in the score up briefly crowding an outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened leaving the final bend.
CARLTON BAY - briefly crowded late in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Lay inwards rounding the first bend losing ground. Weakened final bend.
HUNDY YARD - trotted roughly and hung inwards after 150m becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of KD CORONA. Broke near the 1000m losing all chance.
FLYING DREAMS - pre-race warmed.

HUGO - struck track markers near the 1500m resulting in the trailing STEPHS BOY also contacting track markers. Driver R Close was issued a warning.
FREDASTAIRE - raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
HEAVEN'S MARK - raced wide early.
SEMBA - raced wide early.
MATAI HARRY - raced wide early.
COMMANDER JOE - raced wide early.
BEACHBREAK - held up final bend and early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 5   RICOH MOBILE TROT
SENIOR CONSTABLE LIZ - pre-race warmed. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Lay inwards near the 300m and raced inside a track marker.
HADLEYMAE - lay inwards throughout the run home.
MAROUBRA - crowded by an outside runner racing into the first bend.
WHICH WAY - connections advised the mare would be racing in season. Shifted inwards racing into the first bend crowding an inside runner. Driver S Iremonger was issued a warning. Weakened final bend.
BULLET - switched to a pace leaving the pre-race formation losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Raced wide from the 1200m. Weakened near the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards questioned driver J Versteeg regarding the tactics he adopted from the 1200m when electing to improve three wide without cover after the gelding had broken in the score up losing considerable ground. After taking initial evidence from Mr Versteeg, Stewards adjourned the matter for further consideration.
KING CHARLES - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Broke again near the 1500m losing ground. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the running.
Race 6   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS NZJD CHAMPS (HEAT 3) MOBILE PACE
SANDY SHORE - lay outwards near the 1100m. Lay inwards rounding the final bend striking track markers.
REMISSION - raced wide early.
BRANDI SNAPP - over-raced middle stages.
CLASSIE LINC - connections advised the mare would be racing in season. Lay inwards rounding the final bend striking track markers. Held up early in the run home.
Race 7   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS NZJD CHAMPS (HEAT 4) MOBILE TROT
KERRALLY - hung outwards and trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened from the 1100m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of trainer K Gill revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
BILLY KIMBER - out of position at the start. Struck the helmet of driver E Johnson (HE AINT FAKIN) on several occasions rounding the first bend and again approaching the 1300m when trailing too closely. Driver M Holbrough will be spoken to regarding these matters in the coming days.
HARRIET'S MOMENT - lay inwards throughout the run home.
HE AINT FAKIN - the chin strap clip on the helmet of driver E Johnson came undone near the 1300m after being heavily contacted on several occasions by a trailing runner with the helmet being dislodged and falling to the track. Stewards viewed replays of the pre-race formation and were satisfied that Miss Johnson's helmet had been securely fastened. The helmet was inspected following the race and found to be in good condition with no blame attributed to Miss Johnson for it coming undone. Stewards questioned Miss Johnson (assisted by B Williamson) regarding her decision to continue driving in the race after her helmet had come adrift rather than retire the gelding from the race when the opportunity existed. After taking initial evidence from both drivers, Stewards adjourned the matter for further consideration.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - raced wide early.
ONE OVER DA LINE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 1100m. Weakened final bend. Authorisation of 9th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 1100m. Weakened final bend.
Race 8   VIP TRADE SALES TEAM MOBILE PACE
SCOTLYNN CRUNCH - hung outwards through the middle stages.
ONE EYE BANDIT - paced roughly near the 600m. Held up final bend before striking and racing inside track markers near the 250m. Driver B Butt was issued a warning.
SEASIDE POND - lay inwards and paced roughly near the 500m. Weakened final bend.
PATIRO - weakened final bend.
Race 9   BETTOR'S DELIGHT 'THE KING' HANDICAP PACE
TEDS LEGACY - broke at the start losing ground.
BERRETTINI - shied and broke near the 2100m when leading with the gelding shifting up the track checking trailing runners losing ground and was restrained to the rear of the field. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
BETTOR BE SHARP - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
ROCK OR BUST - checked and broke rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners and losing all chance.
HERE'S HERBIE - forced to race wider approaching the 1000m. Lay inwards leaving the final bend crowding an inside runner.
NEXT LEVEL - raced wide early before being checked near the 2100m. Continued to race wide until being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1400m. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 400m. Held up leaving the final bend.
TANZANIA - raced wide early before being checked near the 2100m and was restrained to the rear of the field near the 1300m. Weakened from the 900m.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAM - raced wide early. Raced wide with cover from the 700m. Hampered rounding the final bend.
AMASS - broke after 100m losing ground.
RADHA - raced wide with cover from the 700m.
DANCE TILL DAWN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400m. Held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
MIKI BENNETT - broke at the start losing ground.
ROCK BAND - crowded by an outside runner leaving the final bend. Driver T Chmiel admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that he shifted outwards just prior to the 1000m forcing HERE'S HERBIE to race wider on the track. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. Mr Chmiel defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly rounding the final bend by shifting ground inwards when insufficiently clear of ROCK OR BUST (N Burton) which was checked and broke. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and both drivers, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.
DOUBLE JEOPARDY - raced wide with cover from the 700m.
Race 10   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND TROT
WAIHEMO HANNAH - slow to begin.
TYRONS STRAPPING LAD - slow to begin. Hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
ONE MHOR FOR HEATHER - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
TU TANGATA - held up final bend and early in the run home. Driver P Nairn admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Nairn's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 3 December up to and including 12 December 2025 (4 days).
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - required a sulky change prior to the start after sustaining a punctured sulky tyre in the preliminary.
TORQUAY STREET - checked by a breaking runner near the 1500m.
KNOWING ME - broke when leading near the 1500m checking a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
PYRAMID ROSE - raced wide early.
Race 11   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
ROYAL BELLE - lay inwards in the run home.
SADIE - broke and shifted outwards early in the score up however was in position at the start. Raced wide early. Paced roughly near the 50m after the filly's hind leg contacted the sulky wheel of SWIMMING POOLE which shifted ground outwards marginally.
VINTAGE GOLD - weakened from the 700m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
SAM SNEAD - raced wide from the 1000m.
MAJOR MOONSHINE - over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover in the middle stages. Lay inwards at various stages. Driver J Curtin reported that he had difficulty steering the gelding.
SWIMMING POOLE - raced wide early. Shifted outwards marginally near the 50m hampering an outside runner. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had spoken to driver M Williamson (SADIE) placed 5th, who advised that his chances had not been affected. Due to the minimal movement outwards of SWIMMING POOLE, Stewards took the matter no further.
Top
