Race Comments

Race 1   AMERICAN IDEAL - A LASTING LEGACY MOBILE PACE
COSMIC STAR - struck a track marker near the 50m then lay inwards and raced inside track markers late in the run home. Despite this driver M Hurrell was issued with a warning for striking a track marker. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not gained an advantage when racing inside track markers late in the run home.
MIND PHILLY - paced roughly rounding the final bend. Driver M Williamson reported the mare had been striking a knee on the bends and he would be recommending gear changes. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
LEDGER'S MAID - lay outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Lay in leaving the final bend contacting several track markers.
MOSTERT - when questioned regarding the improved performance connections advised the gelding had taken natural benefit from its fresh up run at Winton on 16 November.
DAME WEST - out of position at the start. Driver C Ferguson was issued with a warning.
Race 2   NOW'S THE TIME TO BREED WITH WOODLANDS STUD TROT
MUSCLE DASH swung sideways just prior to the tapes being released resulting in a delay. MUSCLE DASH was sent to the Unruly by Starter B Ward where the gelding will remain for future standing starts.

BILL BOOTIT - broke at the start losing all chance.
DIVA BEE - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly in the early and middle stages of the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver N Williamson. Broke near the 20m and continued on in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 2nd placing being awarded under Rule 870(5) alleging the gelding was lapped on at the finish by THE GREEK FREAK. Connections did not contest the protest and DIVA BEE was relegated to 3rd placing by the Stewards.
