Race 2   RIVER FIELD MOBILE PACE
SPIRIT OF SPITFIRE - placed in restricted room by an outside runner shortly after the start. Over-raced middle stages. Driver W House was warned for the manner in which he shifted ground near the 850m when forcing ARTISTIC ROCK wider on the track. Paced roughly near the 800m losing ground. Paced roughly again rounding the final turn when towards the rear then lay in contacting a track marker near the 250m. When questioned regarding the performance Mr House stated that over-racing during the middle stages had taken its toll.
MANAVUE - lay in shortly after the start placing an inside runner in restricted room. Continued to lay in at various stages. Raced wide without cover from the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver A Poutama stated that the gelding had raced greenly throughout in what was its first start.
ARTISTIC ROCK - slow to leave the pre-race formation and was back from position throughout the score up. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Lost ground approaching the 800m after having been shifted wider on the track by an inside runner. Weakened rounding the final turn.
Race 3   THE BRAIG HANDICAP TROT
TIKI - swung outwards after the barriers were released and broke shortly after losing all chance.
KISS MY PIXEL - connections advised the mare would be racing in season.
FIVE MONKEYS - broke rounding the first turn losing all chance.
SCOOTS - reared after the barriers were released and trailed the field throughout. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that this runner had not been denied a fair start.
SHEZA TRENDY ONE - hampered prior to the start when placed in restricted room when called forward on to the 30m barrier but began safely.
COOL PHELAN - Driver P Ferguson was warned for failing to parade in order so as to take up his correct barrier position after the gelding came to the barrier early which resulted in inside runners being placed in restricted room.
