Race 1   MAGNESS BENROW MOBILE PACE
OPA'S GIRL - raced erratically passing the 700m then weakened shortly after to finish distanced. When questioned Driver D Butcher stated that this runner had not warmed up as keenly as it had previously and raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
CYCLONE REBEL - Trainer T Hopkins was warned for being late to notify the gelding would be racing with blinds.
IMPOSING SEA - veered out passing the 300m shortly after Trainer/Driver B Butcher activated the removable deafeners then broke losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. When questioned Mr Butcher confirmed that the gelding had taken fright and that he would be looking to make a gear change prior to resuming.
Race 2   HYDROFLOW TROT
I'LL CALL YOU - broke near the 1650m losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 600m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
ROYAL PETITE - slow early. Broke rounding the first turn losing ground. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
PATRICIA RUBY - broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the event. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
HOME GROWN GIRL - lay in and raced over several track markers rounding the final turn.
MASS DISRUPTION - broke briefly at the start. Broke near the 1300m losing all chance.
Race 3   NZB STANDARDBRED 2 YO MOBILE PACE
HORIZON - late scratching at 8.50am on veterinary advice.
NAZARE - paced roughly for several strides at the start.
ULTIMATE LAD - raced greenly rounding the final turn and early in the run home.
Race 4   HR FISKEN & SON HANDICAP TROT
SNOWY'S SUCCESS - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner and lost all chance.
MAJESTIC CRACKER - broke rounding the first turn losing ground. Over-raced middle stages and was taken up the track near the 1150m before being steadied back down into the running line. Broke again near the 250m losing all chance.
CYCLONE SALA - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn. Lay in and contacted a track marker near the 250m.
AND REMEMBER ME - broke rounding the first turn losing ground. Broke again near the 400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
MAD MARY - approval was given for the filly to race in Driver T Herlihy's colours. Hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Broke rounding the first turn hampering a trailing runner and lost all chance.
YUROK - weakened rounding the final turn.
Race 5   WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
TYSON - raced wide middle stages before reaching the parked position near the 1100m.
THE JOLLY ROGER - successfully contested a position in the running line with TYSON entering the first turn.
FINAL CHANGE - had difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
Race 6   BRECKON FARMS MOBILE PACE
KEVIN KLINE - lay in and broke approaching the 1800m losing ground before settling.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - weakened late in the run home.
Race 7   CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS HANDICAP TROT
EYRE I WILL - placed on the unruly for standing starts at the trainer's request.
LOTERIA - pre-race warmed.
DRAGONSTONE - trotted roughly shortly after the start losing ground. Broke passing the 1300m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
HALBERG - broke near the 600m losing its chance.
Race 8   BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY AT ALEX PARK MOBILE PACE
KALIOPI - lay in rounding the turns before breaking near the 1200m checking trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
SOUL ARTIST - late scratching at 2.26pm due to transport issues.
GLORIA STEINEM - checked by a breaking runner near the 1200m. Lay out throughout the run home. Briefly placed in restricted room by an outside runner passing the 50m.
ENZO - checked by a breaking runner passing the 1200m and broke for several strides. Shifted in passing the 50m briefly placing an inside runner in restricted room.
CUPIDS ARROW - broke early in the score up and was back from the unruly position at dispatch. Checked by a breaking runner passing the 1200m.
